Not sure if you are trolling coz this is the 1st time I have heard about Tendulkar uncomfortable against pace :dontknow: By the way no batsman in the history of the game has ever been comfortable against genuines pace, or has thrived on green & seaming wkts. It's more of a question of getting through the tough parts and cashing on it. That is generally the difference between good and great players - great ones are able to touh it out and manage to survive while the good ones perish in those situations.

This is a great point. No batsman is comfortable when swings at pace. Even Eng batsmen struggle in swinging conditions. RP Singh and Amir made them dance in 2007 and 2010. Likes of Ponting, Gilly and Hayden struggled in Eng when it swung.

DM man don't get angry it's all good fun. Calcutta 99 was special though. 100000 ppl young kid bowling at the best batsman in the world, middle stick rooted out first ball. Drama, tragedy, thrill, skill, ripped posters, riots and a Pakistan win on indian soil. You can't beat that.

As was Multan and Rawalpindi 2004. Innings victory against great phaaaast bowlers plus rookies Irfan and Balaji making Pakistani lineup their bunny. Led to a series win in Pakistan whereas you guys have not won here since 1987.

And this is why I have a problem with people trying to project Tendulkar like God who has no chinks in his armour or something.

Most of the times you play on pitches where after the 1st session the pitch becomes good for batting and you make the most of it after getting through the 1st session. In case if a match is played on a totally green pitch you won't even see a 100, forget a double hundred. Batting where the ball is moving around or seaming has too many factors against batsmen and ultimately they will fall. You can't predict how much a ball will seam. You can predict or counter swing but seam movement is a different beat altogether. on a green pitch the ball may seam just a touch, or cut the batsman in half, or it may go straight on without any deviation, or may keep a bit low and scoot along. In these conditions you don't expect a batsman to score a 100. In fact the only innings I have seen on a bowling/seaming paradise where a batsman managed to score a 100 came from Sehwag!!! It was a odi in 2002-03 in a series against NZ just before the 2003 WC. For that series the pitches had so much grass that you couldn't even tell the pitch from outfield a day before the game!!! Here's the scorecard for the game where India barely managed to reach the target of 200 even though Sehwag hammered a 100!!! http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64818.html And here's another one from the same series where Sehwag di the same but this time on a slightly less helpful track but providing plenty of support to seam bowlers. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64814.html IMO on a seaming paradise or a bowler's pitch a batsman like Sehwag is more likely to succeed as you will eventually get out as you are bound to get an unplayable one. A batsman like Sehwag will at least ensure he scores of whatever deliveries he faces and batsmen whose game is based on getting themselves in, i.e. most of the regular batsmen, won't have that much success in this case.

MAybe Tendulkar had problems but never against Akhtar. Akhtar did the Calcutta, that was all. Heck, Pathan has a better record against MoYo.

Only one-eyed fans do so. Others accept the fact that Tendulkar is one of the greatest players but he's not invincible.
