It's very simple. In T20 the 7th batsman hardly gets a chance to bat, even if it comes down to that we still have Pathan and Ashwin who are decent bats. You would back these 6+2 to do the job in 20 overs. Drop one opener, play an extra bowler and ask NoHit to open.

India should replace Gambhir with Rahane and probably rest Zaheer to accommodate Dinda. We don't have too many options at the moment and bowling is pathetic. It is painful to see Zaheer bowling in T20, I am not sure why the think tank feels that he is a good bowler in this format.

:hatsoff: They were energetic in the field although made some horrible mistakes. Batting is good enough for T20s, few good big hitters. And bowling of course is the strong point, especially impressed with the way how support bowlers bowled. Generally weaker teams struggle with too many mediocre bowlers trying to fill the overs. But all Afghan bowlers seems to have decent skills to hold it together.. a sign that it's in their genes :winky: Batting will be more exposed in ODIs though. But they won't take much time to become a dangerous T20 side.

So the 3 bottom feeders from group a to c should start to pack their bags. most likely ZIM is going back home tomorrow (cause let's face is SA will eat them alive). Group D on the other hand should be interesting. Pakistan in my opinion is autimaticaly going to qualify but both NZ and BD will have to play their skins inside out to qualify.

Now that I have had time to digest our recent results in t20's I can sort of see a similarity with the WC winning campaign where the bowlers looked disasterous up through the england game after which they tightened their boots to hold their own for the remainder of the tourney. So with our penchant for being slow starters in all types of major series' and tourney's I would wait and watch how the guys fare in the remaining games. If we can beat the defending champs Poms then I'd say we are back to being among the favorites once again.
