Ultimate_Game Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 The problem is the lack of consistency. If there are to be no cricket ties and no Pakistani players playing in India' date=' why let in their hockey players, kabbadi players, their singers and musicians?[/quote'] I would bar all of them from entering India, but in case I have to make an example and pick & choose one it has to be cricket as it has the most visibility and the most high profile.

ravishingravi Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Incredibly stupid of the Indian govt. you had the whole Pak team for WC. What's the issue now ? It's ridiculous.
yoda Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 daal mein kuch kaala hai....but when its to do with a paki, the whole daal is kaali. :hysterical:

someone Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Incredibly stupid of the Indian govt. you had the whole Pak team for WC. What's the issue now ? It's ridiculous. Maybe because he had entered India previously on a Pakistan passport and now on a different passport. And probably the protocol asks for more detailed analysis. It is a good thing to say especially since the David Headley incident. It is not about the question on Azhar being a terrorist but rather following your rules and making no exemptions despite being a formality as such in this case.
kidnextdoor Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Is Owais Shah of P@kistani origin? yes he is of Pakistani origin, actually he was born in Pakistan later emigrated to UK and started playing for England team.... link

Don't you think that our government has much better things to do rather than getting on this guys case when it is abundantly clear that he is not a terrorist
someone Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Don't you think that our government has much better things to do rather than getting on this guys case when it is abundantly clear that he is not a terrorist As I said you are being bitter now, and do not understand how a system works. There are protocols in place and it passes through different departments and this takes time.
Stuge Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Visa issue is because he was Pakistani citizen earlier .David headley case is the reason for it .
kidnextdoor Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 As I said you are being bitter now, and do not understand how a system works. There are protocols in place and it passes through different departments and this takes time. What reason would I have to be bitter? Im not a supporter of KXIP...... But I will agree that this is poor planning on behalf of KXIP.... My point is simple, how is it going to come across to the rest of the world when we prevent well know cricket players for entering India because he might be a terrorist, this is a special case and the government should fast track what ever they are doing to get him into India..... Just saying that I am bitter is not an argument, If you think I am so wrong then tell me what he can possibly do when he is going to have 24x7 hrs security ?
RedFever Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 The question is why did KXIP select Azhar Mahmood in the first place !
Utalk Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 The question is why did KXIP select Azhar Mahmood in the first place ! Him being one of the best players in English T20 tournament for last 8/9 years might have something to do it.
Lord Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 poor stuff from BCCI should hv got him cleared as they gave assurance.we r missing a quality player for a stupid reason
Ultimate_Game Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 bollywood is not high profile?? Compared to cricket, Bollywood pales in comparison as far as Ind-Pak ties are concerned.
mishra Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 poor stuff from BCCI should hv got him cleared as they gave assurance.we r missing a quality player for a stupid reason Exactly... We are missing two allrounders. First Broad got injured then this VISA issue... BTW Indian Consulate has some funny rule to make some additional checks against people born in Pakistan... Owais Shah may have been aware of it.... Azhar Mehmood may not....

Checks are in place now because of David headley fiasco .You should be happy atleast somewhere they have same policy for all .You seem to be more worried about your IPL team and not country .
