Vijay.Sharma Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 The ben ka lodas have an awesome team. They have the best pace attack and they have an awesome batting line-up. Bowlers - Morkel, Ummu, Irfan, Varun, Agrya Batsmen - Viru, Warner, KP, Mahela, Rosco Fu
GautiMaan Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 You forgot russel he can come in if anyone's injured.Perhaps spinning wickets are the way to beat them
Vijay.Sharma Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 You forgot russel he can come in if anyone's injured.Perhaps spinning wickets are the way to beat themYes spin is the only way opposition can gain an advantage over their bowling. But their batsmen are all good players of spin so they can neutralize the disadvantage quite quickly too
someone Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 They always had the team to beat since IPL 1 . Yet they have always disappointed, I guess this can happen this season as well.
rkt.india Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Their test will come once their bowlers fail and opposition scores big which has not happened yet. Their opening has been very scratchy till now.
rkt.india Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 They always had the team to beat since IPL 1 . Yet they have always disappointed' date=' I guess this can happen this season as well.[/quote'] They reached semis in IPL1 and they had a poor team last IPL, no middle order batsmen, just dependent on Viru and Warner at the top.
someone Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 They reached semis in IPL1 and they had a poor team last IPL' date=' no middle order batsmen, just dependent on Viru and Warner at the top.[/quote'] Try checking their IPL 2 and 3 teams. That was real quality.
cameron_black Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 irfan comes at number 6, that's not a heavy lineup.
yoda Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Try checking their IPL 2 and 3 teams. That was real quality. I agree. Delhi typically has good teams, then underachieve.
Needforspeed Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 So far their bowlers have done the job for them. So the batting has not been tested yet. We know Veeru is not in good form, Pieterson is incosistent and Jaya is not really a T20 player. The day DD is chasing a score in excess of 150, the batting will be tested and the day the bowlers have to defend a small score, their true worth will come out. They are definitely one of the favorites but its early days yet.
Laaloo Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Their test will come once their bowlers fail and opposition scores big which has not happened yet. Their opening has been very scratchy till now. Great bowling yes' date=' but their batting is not deep.[/quote'] They have Andre Russell on the bench and Warner is still yet to come. It will get better in time for the Semi Finals and finals
rajmarie Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 DD have always been high explosive team......but they have not been able to do justice to their team. As someone said above.....their bowlers are making the job of batsman quite easy. Will be interesting to see when their bowlers flop....how will DD batsman respond. I expect DD to be in finals this year though
Vijay.Sharma Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 Effing what a team, man! Bloody good team What a win!
flamy Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 They've always had a good team. KP adds real depth to their batting.
jairamesh Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 On paper better than most international odi and t20 teams
bulbul Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 they can reach Semi's easily afterwards no guarantee one good innnings enough..remmeber Gilly 2009
