Ultimate_Game Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 NONE On a lucky day some bowler will have good returns. This. We don't have a go-to death or even a go-to bowler at all in T20s, or in odis & Tests for that matter. We just have a bunch of average bowlers who may have a good day once in a while but generally we depend on batsmen to bat the opposition out of the game or to chase anything the opponent may have scored.

1983-2011 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Where is RP now :giggle: Pathan was most expensive bowler in last IPL :haha: Santh is still good. He won us the game v Aus in 2007 T20 WC, or we would not have progressed well. Santh is injured or still would be first name on bowling sheet. you said he won us the t20 world cup, the fact is he didnt, yeah sree bowled well against aus but so did yuvi as he hit 70 of just 30 balls. RP singh had figures of 4/13 against south africa in that tourney and pathan won MOM award in the final against Pakistan. where is sree now:hysterical: while pathan and RP are still playing for DD and MI respectively whereas sree is still deciding between Ayurveda and Surgery:giggle:
1983-2011 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 RP Singh was better than Sreesanth in the last years IPL, heck even vinay kumar was better than him http://stats.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2011/engine/records/averages/batting_bowling_by_team.html?id=5969;team=4788;type=tournament

He is rubbish now. Santh would still be playing all formats of the game if not for injury. He is very sought after. Outgoing bowling coach eric simons said he is the only player who he regards as "phenomenal." Playing IPL is no biggie, club players are playing it too.

I just pointed out that he was not the main bowler in 2007 world T20 which you stated by saying he won us that world cup. you do admit that RP and Pathan were better than him in that world cup?

Slightly better in that wc. Santh is an attacking bowler.
Magneto Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Dada also playing, means nothing  Sale, wild thing bowling now, go RR. Dada is only playing Tamasha kirkut We are talking real international stuff here.
rkt.india Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 steyn's economy in T20 internationals is 6.81 Morkel's is 6.65. That is phenomenal. Look at Indian seamers Irfan 7.98 Zaheer 7.84 Nehra 8.83 Praveen 7.42 Sreesanth 8.47 Vinay 8.03 Ishant 8.47 Munaf 8.60 RP is the stand out thanks to his worlD T20 campaign 6.81 That is because steyn mostly bowls in seam friendly conditions in SA. Even vinay, rp, balaji, yadav were unplayable in this ipl whenever they bowled in such conditions.

Even vinay' date=' rp, balaji, yadav were unplayable in this ipl whenever they bowled in such conditions.[/quote'] Steyn's economy is higher SA. It is 7.13. Also Morkel's is 6.30 which is not very far from his overall economy. AMong the Indians in SA RP stands out once again ER 6.33 Irfan 7.43 Sreesanth 8.00 Also in SA not all pitches are bowler friendly. Some of the pitches more batsmen friendly than Indian slow pitches. Ball nicely come onto bat. Out of the top 5 highest scores in T20, 4 of them have come in South Africa. Infact most of the big totals have come in SA.

Vinay and PK were unplayable in first T20 in Aus. Steyn does not have good yorker and he is not consistent as well. Whenever, he has played in IPL, most of the times he has been thrashed as well that is why RCB did not bid for him who he played for before in IPL. This time he has been thrashed less. Same is the case with Morkel. He too has been thrashed several times in the same IPL. He went for 50 against PWI where Yadav was one the most economical. Thing Steyn and Morkel have bowled a lot against Indian batsmen who are weak against genuine pace. Only this year Morkel has started bowling those yorkers and it is overall bowling attack which makes them that good at international level. If one bowler is good and others are crap, one bowler wont matter. SA have all good bowlers.
rkt.india Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 Seamers have taken 310 wickets thus far in the IPL, out of 464, almost 67%. Spinners, though, have been marginally more economical, going at 7.26 an over as opposed to 7.82
Vijay.Sharma Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I am really disappointed with this year's IPL as far as new talent coming up is concerned. It's not only in the bowling but even in the batting department we haven't seen any eye catching performances (except Rahane). This year's IPL has been very bad for India's fringe players and even the main players. Except Viru, Gambo, and Rahane none of the main India players have done much of note. Raina has been a shadow of himself, Rohit has flashed, Virat is in "off" mode, Dhoni seems to have lost his midas touch, Dinesh Kartik flattered to deceive, Ashwin has been poor, Zak desn't belong in T20 cricket, Munna has been okay, Nehra's end is nigh, Ojha hasn't inspired, Mishy has lost his juice, Chawla gives hope but takes it away the next game, RP can go back to gaining weight, Irfan is so-so, Yusuf has bombed big time. It looks hopeless right now. But who knows, as the tournament comes to an end we might see some inspirational performances that can give us confidence in our national team. Stranger things have happened in the game...waise bhi ummeed pe khayum hai zindagi

Stranger things have happened in the game...waise bhi ummeed pe khayum hai zindagi How many fringe players performed amazingly in IPL 2011? We have seen more unknown players performing well for their teams than any other IPL season. It is the known players likes of Raina, Rohit, Jaddu, SRT, Ganguly, etc.who havent been good enough. Look at Mandeep, he has done so well, look at Awana who has done so well in his first IPL, look at Nitin Saini has done well, 19 year old Veer Pratap Singh impressed as well, Ankit Sharma the left arm spinner has been impressive too, Nadeem has done well as well. Dont have unrealistic expectations. They are rookies and are not going to perform like experienced pros like GG, Viru, Gayle, etc. straight away.
