Texy Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Viru's captaincy is similar to his style of batting...no thoughts applied just bang bang, wild swing, hit n miss a few then get out. Viru's nonchalant captaincy...no sense of urge...no encouragement on the field, poor body language...and then coming out to bat and swing at everything...no wonder he lost all his hair...not due to pressure of thoughts & strategies but an after effect of dead cells building up over time in his head
rajmarie Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Even though KKR won today...& KKR plays on slow wicket on Eden...but Pune wicket is actually worst then Eden wicket. The wicket makes any ordinary spinner looks like Warne/Kumble. Agreed here that its wicket like this that make a lot of crappy spinners in India & plenty of Vinay Kumar/Bhatia type bowlers.

rkt.india Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 DD pacers bowled poorly. This was the kind of pitch where they had to bowl just short of length and it wasnt east to hit the ball but they tried to hit yorkers and couldnt execute them well. Field placemments were awry as well in the last overs.

No. A spin pitch does not allow stroke play. IT becomes difficult scoring on them while a fast bouncy pitch, batsmen can play their strokes better. It may seam swing when the ball is new, but once it is 5-6 overs old, it becomes batting paradise and batsmen can score runs easily which is not the case with spinning tracks. Spinning tracks mostly produce boring low scoring games.
