Cong beat Modi at his own game :hehe:
Yup not only on Tweeter but also I can see in usual comments section of any article in TOI or NDTV now there is a huge flow of Modi haters calling him feku and all. I wonder this is new strategy of Congress after Rahul Gandhi instructed the karyakartas to counter Modi on Social media. Now this is going to be interesting but they will have to take care that they do not repeat the mistake which BJP supporters did as too much of negativity sometimes backfires.

At first I didn't relaized your comment was about Social media, I thought Congress provided 24 hr electricity in Andhra or they did a drastic improvement of agriculture growth in Rajasthan or they made Delhi a great place wrt Law & Order or they made Haryana top politics corruption free. Isn't this the best way to counter Modi, develop all their state and no one will even count Modi in the race of PM.

I don't think even Cong supporters can match Modi bhakts in abusing if their leader is questioned/criticized. A few weeks ago I posted an article where the writer called Modi bhakts "Frankenstein monster" which Modi will find very hard to control - this is precisely what is happening now and I expect the situation to get even more out of control in days to come.

Yup , I agree 100% with this but what is the solution? Criticizing him more, finding more documents or statistics to show how Gujarat has lagged behind in dealing Loose Motions or nit picking one or two of the portions of his speeches and saying see how idiot he is? No this will not work infact this will make his supporters more aggresive. I think you would have gorn through same stage while defending Sachin in Cricket forums during last two years. The solution is bring a Virat or Dhoni or Dhawan, the discussion on Sachin will automatically start becoming lesser and leser. Similarly Congress should ask Gehlot to make Rajasthan 24 Electricity state, develop it so much that its growth rate becomes more than 15%. Give your CM the target of developing more and more infrastructure, ask a full stop to corruption at any level. Beleive me no one will talk about Modi.

Ask Pratap Bhanu Mehta the number of abuses he got after writing an article critical of UPA 2. Or Madhu Kishwar, a leading activist and a neo convert to Modi fan club. Or Asma Khan Pathan , a Gujrat BJP councillor and a few other muslims on twitter who support Modi In anycase, how exactly is a leader to be blamed if his so called anonymous fans indulge in abuse? Unless he or she justifies it, don't understand how that is something he/she can be blamed for.

how to control them will have to be thought by Modi - but it has to be done or it will be very damaging in the long run. There are many genuine reasons to find holes in the Gujarat development story so Cong isn't exactly wrong in questioning it. As for improving their own party, we can forget about that because nowadays Congress' sole reason for existence seems to be making money for the party/leaders.

Yes and this is the time when we can change the whole political and votebank discussion. See, Modi says I have done X things in my state obviously there would me many Y and Z thing which are still needed to be done. No body can make a state or country perfect. Now, the counter can be in two ways whole of the machinery and his haters would dig out a statistics and say you have not done Y and Z things. The second counter would be you have done X, we have not only done X we have also implemented Y and Z in our state or we have done X in much better way. My assumption is second option would be more better if you want to dilute his popularity. Remember one thing, Modi has got most of his fan following in last three years when he started telling the people what he has done for development and not in 2002 so you cannot counter him by pulling the discussion on 2002 it wont help as most of the fans are not there because of 2002 they are because of 15-16% growth rate and 24 hr electricity and Agriculture growth and good governance. Counter him with providing a better growth rate and better electricity and better agriculture growth, his popularity will diminish and it will be good for country also right?

Ironical isn't it. During the assembly elections, same COngress went around saing Gujrat has always been a developed state and wished to take some credit for its recent rapid progress saying the developments was fueled by center's money!

Nearly 10 months after the British government warmed upto Narendra Modi, the India groups of the country's two main political parties have invited the Gujarat Chief Minister to visit the UK. The ball was set rolling by the Opposition party's Labour Friends of India when its chairman, Barry Gardiner MP, sent a letter to Mr Modi last week inviting him to the House of Commons to speak on 'The Future of Modern India'. "The invitation is a culmination of several years of engagement between senior representatives of the Labour Party and Narendra Modi," the Labour MP for Brent North said. "I am sure people in the UK and indeed the international community would be very interested to meet and hear what Narendra Modi has to say first hand. He is a politician who cannot be ignored. "I believe it's in Britain's best interests that we engage with him as both the chief minister of Gujarat and also potential prime minister," he added.:giggle: Stephen Pound MP, former chair of Labour Friends of India, said, "I, like many colleagues within the Labour Party, look forward to welcoming chief minister Modi to the UK. I last had the pleasure of meeting him in Gujarat in 2009. His return visit to the UK is long overdue." In a rare show of political unity, the Conservative Friends of India issued their own invite for the chairman of the BJP's national election committee a day later on August 9. Its co-chairman, Sailesh Vara, MP, struck a personal note in his letter expressing a wish to "finally meet" Modi. "It would be a great privilege for us to host an event for you. I very much hope that you will take us up on this invitation when opportunity allows," wrote Mr Vara, the Tory MP for North West Cambridgeshire. The UK government, like the US, had distanced itself from Mr Modi in the aftermath of the 2002 Gujarat riots

Not happening. I think the detractors have taken a two pronged strategy. One, go back to 2002. Of course, you have to understand that this is easiest option with not requirement or possibility of any credible evidence being provided. But it is good way to question his character. Second, by almost changing the line of discussion to Y & Z, and saying that X was achieved at cost of Y & Z.

^:nervous: Please!! why are all secular voices becoming dumber by the day. Little by little it is an equivalent of Fox News and right wing nuts in US. Like headless chickens they are going from pillar to post to dig something up on this guy.

As the election date comes closer, I think they will even drop the garb of "secularism". Political Class+Media+NGOs vs 1 man. I'm sorry, if people don't see something wrong with that equation, then, to hell with them.

You are putting it like a glass empty, glass full proposition when it is not. There have been instances when he said he did X but has not done X aka fekufied. Just like the term Pappu has been earned by Rahul Gandhi, so has the term Feku earned by N Modi.
