Have to agree There is no question of going overboard. All his ideas are game changing. It is just a joy when I hear things that are challenging status quo. Of course he has to deliver.
The start, especially the ideas about inviting SAARC leaders and asking Govt. Babus to tell what went wrong and what went right in UPA's tenure, has been good. Lets see how he does when he actually takes over on 26th.... BTW all media reports till now suggest that Sushma Swaraj will not get a top 4 ministry while Rajnath Singh is certain to get one - I think it would be better for the Country as well as for the Govt if Modi started being a little gracious to those within the party who opposed him. Having someone as capable as Sushma Swaraj in a top 4 ministry in place of an incompetent Rajnath Singh would be a welcome step IMO.

But my question is why should Sushma Swaraj or anybody else be entitled to a ministry. Bigger question is how can Swaraj be o graceless and ask for top 4 ministry. Bitterly disappointing. She is in public service. And no, she hold not be anywhere close o cabinet, since her heart is not with leader or th party at the moment. She can go off and make reckless comments and jeopardise th party.

Still wondering what is the U-turn. I have read both articles. Can you summarize in your own words on what issue did the Economist U-turn?

The go from
So there is much to admire. Despite that, this newspaper cannot bring itself to back Mr Modi for India’s highest office.
followed by a bunch to rhetoric that most of MSM of India is tom-toming like a stuck broken record and after he won the election...
Mr Modi has a mandate for economic reform. Although his core supporters are religious nationalists, steeped in the glories of a Hindu past, it was the votes of the young, urban and educated that won him the election.
They tone down this rhetoric to one of hope. Why couldn't they have believed in hope earlier instead of harping on Godhra like everybody else? Agree that on the "muslim" angle they still want him to utter the word "upliftment of minorities" like everybody else are harping about. I don't see why should do it when he is saying "upliftment of poor"!

Modi is leaving behind is the salary he earned as chief minister in the last 13 years. According to a close aide, he intends to give away the money for a fund that would be used to educate children of the staff working at the chief minister's secretariat in Ahmedabad.
