Old guy Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 on a serious note I am sure india will produce a few world class fast bowlers soon. yes yes :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
jj_28 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Umesh - 24 Ishant - 23 Aaron - 22 Shami - 22 Our fast bowling future is not as bad as people make it out to be with better pitches we can do even better
thongale Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Umesh - 24 Ishant - 23 Aaron - 22 Shami - 22 Our fast bowling future is not as bad as people make it out to be with better pitches we can do even betterWe thought the same when bowlers like Nissanka, Malinga, Fernado, Eranga, Lakmal, Thushara etc came through. All were quick, and moved the ball, and far more talented than Vaas and were big men (except Malinga). But everybody were extremely fragile, and no one could even ties Vaas' shoelaces in test level.

Ishant and Umesh have been brilliant in patches.
jj_28 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 you can never compare two sides Just because Nissanka, Malinga, Fernado, Eranga, Lakmal, Thushara didn't work out doesn't mean Ishant, Yadav, Aaron, Shami won't either Yadav has already made it, Ishant injury problems are a concern but for me his injuries have been due to over workload but hopefully with Aaron, Shami coming through plus the emergence of Yadav he will finally be able to share his workload with the other fast bowlers A major plus for our bowler is our strength in batting it gives them more levy than bowlers of other countries
Cricket Tragic Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Umesh - 24 Ishant - 23 Aaron - 22 Shami - 22 Our fast bowling future is not as bad as people make it out to be with better pitches we can do even better You would be right if that was their bowling averages. Sadly it is their age.
Ultimate_Game Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 You would be right if that was their bowling averages. Sadly it is their age. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Some Indian fans think that just because the bowlers are young they will improve despite enough evidence. Ishant has played intl cricket for over 5 years now and he has actually regressed. Broad in comparison who hit the intl scene at the same time has gone places. Same with our other bowlers like Irfan, RP Singh, Sreesanth etc. They all looked good early in their careers than they do now after gaining experience.

thongale Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 bad for you' date=' but out guys bowl 140+ on average which your guys with the exception of malinga did not do.[/quote']Nissanka did bowl around 140k, and was even clocked at 148k, but had a very short career. Others averaged in mid 130s, and when on gas went passed that 140k mark. Malinga simply was quicker than any body from subcontinent bar Akthar and Sami. But these guys did a lot off the pitch compared to your guys out there. Sadly everybody is injured at the moment and some have completely lost it.

I remeber Munaf Patel to be very quick, but now he's a trundler. Bad coaching and bad selection were the reasons.
thongale Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 fernando is quicker than malingaAt present yes. But Malinga did clock some 150k+ deliveries in NZ. Even went up to 156k.

None other than Malinga in the past have ever acheived this. Fernando bowls a few quick deliveries at around 145 and settles down to a nice 138 rhythm , he is more like sreesanth. Mallings was fast, he still is pretty quick but others fast medium at max, Fernando and Thisara. SUb continents quickest bowlers ( not the best just quickest) are presently Indians. Yadav,Aaron and Ishant.
Vilander Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Umesh - 24 Ishant - 23 Aaron - 22 Shami - 22 Our fast bowling future is not as bad as people make it out to be with better pitches we can do even better ATM they are Fast and wayward with the exception of Ishant who is fast and accurately short of good length, even in death overs quite a death knell for India.
MCcricket Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Aaron, Ishant, Umesh, are at a different level compared to any SL bowler pace wise, they can be compared to Shane Bond in terms of pace as he bowled in the 145 to 153 k range, Malinga, Fernando bowl in early 140's, also these bowlers can touch 150 most times, no one else in Lanka comes close, in Pakistan Wahab Riaz has a bit of pace , in Bangla no one. I don't think we can compare these three guys to anyone from this subcontinent right now pace wise and they can bowl as fast as anyone out there including SA, Australia, England if not faster then them.Pakistan always had good pace bowlers in the past now no one is really fast except maybe Wahab, with Ishant, Awana, Umesh, Aaron, there will be a lot of competition and if they manage to stay fit , Indian bowling will be formidable. We also have Shami, Pawan Suyal, Anwar Ahmed , Shukla,Sreesanth, VRV,Abu Nechim, Tyagi IF THESE BOWLERS STAY FIT AND BOWL AT THEIR BEST, the pool of fast bowlers will be formidable.
adi B Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 op is write, indian bowlers never have the killer instinct in them, they dont know how to bowl bouncers nd full throttle yorkers....they concede runs like hell, now we have hope in the form of our new young fast bowlers....
Texy Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 India can never match Pakistan in fast bowling dept. Kids growing up running from drones will naturally grow up to be faster than kids running for Dhoni's autograph

Yadav,Aaron and Ishant.Nissanka, before his injury did bowl a spell of 140+ in WI, and took 5/48 as well. And Fernando has been clocked even at 151k. But I agree that all these are 135k bowlers on average. But I don't think either Yadav or Aaron can register 140k+ spell for a long periods of time. The bitter fact is both Indian and Lankan bowlers lack fitness as some Pakistanis. We may not see fitness geeks like Kapil, Vaas, Akram and Waqar for a long time. Indians are doing well at the moment, with fitness, but looking at subcontinal history, looks like another flash in pan.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 We thought the same when bowlers like Nissanka' date=' Malinga, Fernado, Eranga, Lakmal, Thushara etc came through. But everybody were extremely fragile, and no one could even ties Vaas' shoelaces in test level. You're underrating Vaas big time. He was a fine bowler. The ability to swing the ball is also a talent.

Malinga was the quickest Asian bowler if you discount the Pakis. He was clocked at 156.5k at NZ, the closest rival was Srinath who got up to 156k. Fernando (despite being crap) for a decade and a bit bowls in mid 130s and gets up to 150 once in a while. Apart from Srinath, who was the Indian bowler who was able to sustain pace for that long? OMG, Mitchell Johnson, Dale Steyn. Marchant de Lange, And few of those Aussies get in to that bracket and sustain their pace for a longer time. It's not bowling a 4 over spell at pace, but returning to the 3rd spell of the day and still hitting 140k. On this note none of the Asian bowlers were able to do it. If that was the case, Sl by now would have had a ****ing good pace attack. But it did not turn out to be like that.
