The situation is not far behind in Mumbai . Not much of political killings but extortion' date=' mafia has an equal and deadly presence.[/quote'] I am from Mumbai and I can safely say that is far far from the truth.

The situation is not far behind in Mumbai . Not much of political killings but extortion' date=' mafia has an equal and deadly presence.[/quote'] There is an underworld in every major city that operates above the law but does it so mostly in a way that the common man is not affected. This is very different from what is happening in Karachi - the city's problems stem from two equally powerful and rival groups - mohajirs and pashtuns. Both have the firearms and manpower to challenge each other and are constantly fighting for more influence. Its like the city constantly lives on the edge - peaceful yet the smallest of incidents can trigger a violent wave of targeted killings. Karachi is very important for Pakistan from an economic perspective and its strange that the government has let ANP and MQM rule the city with a free hand.

even though i posted and started this thread, i dont think above pic is least bit funny.. in smaller cities, we would have the same thing for bomb squad.. just think abt a majboor guy taking on this job n providing for his family despite the fear of getting killed... thank god that i am not in his position.. my problem is with their system...
