Like the way he expressed his concern about how someone ranked 307 might not even have the right shoes. But but... Bhupathi is the crybaby. Rohan is the crybaby. Sania is the crybaby. Lets celebrate the failure of a man who won us a French Open title, for he didn't succumb to the dadagiri of Leander Paes.
Clarke Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Why is Vardhan a clay court player? The Wimbledon grass courts could be very different from what we have in India (atleast they were a decade back). I recall some davis cup games where the grass was much longer than Wimbledon hence they were slower than the All England club.

It's not like these guys are so good and better than the youngsters at their current age that India will lose out on any medal chances. I'd rather have the young fellas represent India than this tried and failed duo in Olympics. Lee-Hesh was a great pairing in the late 90s and early 00's but like Waz-Waqar, Ambrose-Walsh, McGrath-Gillespie, Srinath-Prasad, etc they have a shelf life. Like Ajay Maken made the point that they haven't won us a medal in 4 attempts so why continue with them? Effing other than cricket every sport federation in India is incompetent. There is so much of inertia within these federations that individuals or teams that succeed are always despite them. Same thing goes for Sania Mirza too...is she the best Indian women's tennis has to offer. Why not give someone else a chance?

One half of the Olympic bound 2, Leander Paes with Partner Stepanek crashed out too, but in 5 sets with a thrilling nail biting last set. Unfortunate end for Paes/Stepanek, Rain came when they were serving to stay in the game at 30-30 and rain came in the middle. They came back and lost straight 2 points. Shyt luck.

I thought it was the former...and that is where I am suggesting that why not allow new fellas to play the qualifiers under India banner...

The players entering will be formally submitted by the International Tennis Federation. The ATP and WTA rankings are based on performances from the previous 52 weeks, and there were several tournaments, in the two month period between the time of the rankings being frozen for entry, and the beginning of the tennis events at the Olympics. Players must have also have made themselves available for two Fed/Davis Cup events from 2009 2012, one of which must have taken place in 2011?012, and have a good standing with their National Olympic Committee.[1] Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter 6 men and 6 women athletes, with a maximum of 4 entries in the individual events, and 2 pairs in the doubles events. Any player in the world's top 56 is eligible, and NOC's have the option to enter players of a lower rank. There are already calls to stop playing doubles.
