You find me someone who can bowl magical spells in SA v top batsmen, flat tracks of Lanka. He is as good as Steyn. Don't believe me? Look at what likes of Donald, Chapell and Eric Simons have said about him. ZK had a purple patch in his career, not as skilled as Santh. Didn't rate Srinath that highly skill wise. Worked hard, had natural bounce, wasn't that special. Only Kapil perhaps.

Nitpicking but that spell came in a home series. Admittedly it was a flat deck and he deserves a lot of credit for that performance.

I have watched a lot of Hoggard's games. He was good but fell out of favour with the old fat Dunc. Limited bowler though, reliant on swing, not much pace, and certainly not one for LOI. Santh is a wicket taker in all formats. He has the game.

since Jan 1 2006 (year when Sreesanth made debut) Combined record by touring bowlers in SA, England and OZ. Sree's average is pretty high compared to say Zaheer, Praveen, Asif, Aamer.. etc.

He was on course for another good series in England before he picked up the injury . He has not been the same since.

I think bowlers have to find the right rhythm and a bit of luck on the way, Zaheer or Ishant have both been unable to find it since their injury problems started But the good thing is that we now have quality contenders coming through Umesh, Aaron, Shami Ahmed who will push these players to either get in form or get out the way

Please don't be surprised Steyn has played only 5 tests in last 6 years in that list.. only touring stats are considered so home stats of anderson, steyn (for eg) are not taken into account.

Noone comes close to Zak i terms of fast bowling. All the other jokers have come and gone. He's been the only certainity.

Sree was a young guy in 2006, unfair comparing him with ZK, who had that wealth of experience. Santh bowled amazingly in some tough series. Lack of Dhoni support, injuries brought that average up. Naturally he is a bowler who would average in mid 20's. Also you compare Sree to PK, PK has played handful of tests on his favourite pitches in England with lots of cloud cover. Lets see if he can repeat Santh's performances in SA or on flat tracks in SC. Doubt it. I do agree since England, Zak looks different, but he is still our best bowler.
