BERGKAMP Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 In the shorter version of the game where the ball doesn't bounce above knee height he's a superman!

jind Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 as pointed out in other thread About Raina batting at number 4-5: Good point, with no Tendulkar and Yuvi in the team, Raina should be batting up the order at 4-5. If I were Raina, I would be kicking myself for not being able to play at #4. He's a great finisher and as a result is kinda stuck at that #6/7 position for a long time. But the better batsmen should be playing up the order as much as possible.

So wait, him playing the "finisher's" role at the lower end of the line up is not good? :hysterical: Why do people ask to change things up when they are working perfectly as this?

Sachin=GOD Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 As I have said time and again - he is India's best finisher.
jind Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Dude we have better batsmen for # 4 waiting in the sidelines. Better finishers ? I don't think so. Yeah it's a pity that Raina is brilliant down the order that it is hard for him to move up the order From a team dynamics point of view, Raina is great at that position...I am thinking how he would like to bat up the order. :dontknow:
Jersey #10 Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 Jind, are you somehow related to "vvvslaxman" dude? He's just as annoying and brainless as you are. Just wondering Some people could never be happy
Clarke Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Yeah it's a pity that Raina is brilliant down the order that it is hard for him to move up the order Oh NO it isn't! He contributes to our victories well enough down the order, what more could one expect from a sportsman ? Those runs are no less valuable than those scored by Gambhir/Kohli.

A batting lineup needs batsmen for different roles and Raina is perfectly suited to the finishing role at 6 or 7. Why change that? In football/soccer's example, would you be sad that Iniesta or Xabi Alonso is a midfielder and can't be moved to be a striker, or that Puyol and Ramos play at the back and this can't be played in forward positions?
SLICKR392 Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 With Yuvi back in the team..we will have 3 quality finishers with Irfan @ 7 :yay:
