he needs a break, he deserves it, and he is probably quite thankful for it. if i were a proffessional sportsman, i would not want anything to do with a pajama tournament where little can be learnt, or lost.

Sachin wanted to play , I have no absolutely no doubts in that. He agreed to left out because it would have looked a bit odd if Rahul and Saurav didnt play and he alone played.

No MM, He opted out. Rahul had told Times Now that he'd stop playing international cricket if any of these three's opting out was forced!! And I trust Rahul.

Even Tendulkar confirmed in one of the interviews he had opted out of Twenty20 to rest a bit for the upcoming gruesome itinerary.

we may not know the truth. The players form a sort of family in the dressing room and see us, the fans, as intruders. They hardly let their arguments echo to the outside world

i think he could have played. ganguly is barely (not even) fit for ODIs. dravid is no 20/20 material either. i don't think he would have cared if dravid or ganguly didn't play. i agree with rads. it is the selectors asking all three to just start planning their retirement instead of launching careers with a new format.

No. They opted out themselves. On what basis can anyone tell them to opt out?
Just a hunch chandan..... Teen heroes ek saath nahi bolen ...isbaat par thoda shak hota hai....( we need a suspicious smiley)

Whatever the scenario, I think he would be amazingly destructive in that format. Would've been a treat to the eye, sachin in full flow going hammer and tongs after the bowling. I'm secretly(well not anymore) hoping that sachin performs well in the coming ODI's and is coerced to play the tournament.
