Crookbond Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I have an Facebook page and I am an active user - It doesn't make me any special nor does it make a person who doesn't use one a psycho. What's with these stereotypes? :dontknow:
India-KXIP fan Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Facebook is great to chat with friends and keep in touch with people especially those you may not see as often anymore, moved away. But some things really annoy me like all the drama, attention seeking and people posting things just to get likes. But whatever I guess should just ignore it.
Desi Cartman Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Online social networking is crippling peoples real lives. It's becoming a curse on the society. How ? I dont see people checking their FB more often than their email. In fact it should help people cut down their time on the internet as they can communicate with all their friends from one platform. Obviously there are people who get addicted to social media sites.
Desi Cartman Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Hahaha..look at how these childish gimmicks like fb has changed people's thinking..apparently scribbling on someone's wall is now "normal" social interaction these days... and writing countless posts on a random cricket forum and discussing trivial matters with people whom you have never met is normal ? :giggle:
vvvslaxman Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Dang.. i got hooked on for the last month or so. Want to give up badly. On one side i want to delete the account permanently. On the other side it won't be nice to my relatives who are mostly in my account alongwith classmates. Start the test series already :hitler:
Sachin=GOD Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Facebook sucks...!! I've been saying this for 3 years but nobody listens :--D
vvvslaxman Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I've been saying this for 3 years but nobody listens :--D I was also like that.. then suddenly couple of long lost relatives joined. Got over-excited.. and started sharing pics. it is not like i post every hour. Just that i spend time waiting if someone responds or not which i hate. I want to totally give up FB without deleting it. So i need some other distraction.. this is winter. can't even go out much. Movies i have reduced since my kid is growing and i don't even watch PG13. Waiting for the England series to start.
vvvslaxman Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I have couple of accounts. One for ranting in public forum which i deleted.. in the next 13 days it will be permanently deleted.

Waiting for the England series to start. almost all my relatives/friends (especially distant ones) asked me repeatedly but now even they have realized that I'll never join Fb so they've stopped asking. Ask someone to change your password (and password recovery questions along with that) and tell him/her never to tell you the password.
maniac Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I can live with people not responding to my posts on ICF but don't think I can take it when people do not respond atleast with a Like to my FB status updates :((
Nova Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Facebook is an egotistical platform. The more time you spend there, the dumber you become. I can live with people not responding to my posts on ICF but don't think I can take it when people do not respond atleast with a Like to my FB status updates :(( :hysterical: .
PaceAttack Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I know few guys who uses Facebook like twitter. They update it every hour. Few updates like - Wow..!! its raining, I am loving it.. - Had a great time watching Batman movie. They ****ing think that they are some sort of celebrities and we have to click Like or comment whatever they do.
vvvslaxman Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Facebook is an egotistical platform. The more time you spend there, the dumber you become. :hysterical: . Self-importance takes the front seat. you want recognition like it is some kind of medal. "likes" and responses. If you don't get enough your self esteem takes a hit.. like you are not that much likable.. dang..
