Sachinism Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Worst Olympics. Opening ceromony was all lies, they showed their history so where was the colonization of India and many other countries. Some racist incidents, Korea flag incident etc. WTF. I guess if India hosted an event you'd hope they showed the submissiveness of Indians while being conquered, the treatment, or how little women have been valued. Glorify the wars we've been it, etc.
maniac Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 As an indian-This was the best on-field olympics but if you were a casual viewer trying to compare the opening and closing ceremony of London to Beijing....it has got nothing on Beijing.....That opening ceremony was something for the ages.... Security breach(Can we say that?),Poor decisions,Racism,Also it felt like same old old....Apart from Blake and the Chinese swimmer,no breakthrough performances
jind Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Having watched the Olympics for quite a few years and sports in general, initially I didn't have the same enthusiasm before the games started..or atleast that's what I thought. However, once the games started, I was pretty much glued to the games in general as well as keeping a keen tab on all things Indian. The coverage was the best so far, especially the online coverage, where there were multiple streams of all the events and even replays. A brilliant experience

I think the UK's tally was around $20-30 million dollars per gold medal. Wow insane. That's just stupid though. Within reason I'm all for expenditure. But 20-30 mill per medal? That's going overboard. China is smart though. I reckon they would bring down the cost per medal by increasing the number of athletes in a particular discipline. Would love to read into the costs of the Chinese and British athlete programs. I reckon Jessica Ennis is probably their most expensive athlete.

Yeah infact never heard of her before the closing ceremony....was surprised by the hype she got....apparrently she writes for a lot for Teen acts in the U.S
