Union Home Secretary R.K. Singh on Saturday blamed Pakistan-based elements for uploading inflammatory and objectionable content on the Internet that painted an exaggerated picture of the recent violence in Assam. Mr. Singh told journalists here that Ministry of Home Affairs officials have identified over 100 websites on which false and morphed images were posted from Pakistan to incite people in India and create communal tension. Űur two teams deployed for this specific job have so far identified over 100 such websites on which inflammatory messages were uploaded from Pakistan©Äontents include old images from Myanmar and other places that are being used to provoke people. While 76 websites have already been blocked, 34 more would be blocked very soon, he said. Mr. Singh, however, had no information on the source of the SMSs which spread the false rumour that northeastern migrants had been attacked and killed by Muslims in Bangalore and which led to panic among northeasterners in Karnataka and elsewhere.

This is not new news, I have seen it myself on the web where people use pictures of completely un-related events to further their own agenda against Muslims being killed. The sad thing is , these pictures spread like wildfire and no one even bothers to see if they are true or not. Though I have also come across many posts refuting this propaganda, like the blog above, so some sense has prevailed

& I thought his main point to prove is: No such thing happened there' date=' all those were fake stories based on fake images...[/quote'] Yes that was his point. The indian intelligence apparently had to search 75 sites to find this information :giggle: I cannot understand why we even need a home ministry.

Ah the media. The loyal sepoys of the Nehru dynasty rule are now cleared to manage the show. Press will have lot of articles about how paki hand was found. BTW if not for those red-handed pictures of the pure desecrating Amar Jawan and Mahavir statues, there would not even have been token acknowledgment and action against the perpetrators. Move on, nothing to see here. Everything is under control and the loyal sepoys of Nehru dynasty rule are here to help you.

Don't care if those are Pakis instigating it but those culprits who indulged in violence must be brought to book and given the harshest of punishment nonetheless. They were not kids who do not have minds. They were grown up adults and they should face the harshest of punishment for sure.

We are acting like Pakistan now. Blame the neighbour in everything wrong in your house. Better clean our house first before throwing stones at others !!!
Exactly. Everything seems to be blamed on others. It never our own fault. Again, with this move, the government will do nothing about the poison within our own country as for them it never happens. After all it is vote bank politics. Even worse, how many public believe this kind of news, this is never the root cause and will never solve anything. India's problem are within India.

^ Swift investigation, judicials process and handing out punishments could be a good start. The problem starts there.. The whole process drags on and emboldens repeated offenders and also first time offenders. In UK, I've seen quick judicial process after filing of cases by Police..No beating around the bush.. For example the London Riot cases.. 1000s of offenders were dealt with in a quick, time bound manner.. In India, this could mean having political will and bit of spine..

If the government is incompetent and doesn't want criticism of the public, media and opposition, then it's easy way to just blame Pakistan for anything wrong in India. Earlier it used to remain limited to terrorist attacks and now they have extended the usage of same excuse. I guess there will be a time when government will start blaming policy failure and corruption also to Pakistan.
