ShebbySB Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 What can Irfan do on spinning wickets man? :dontknow: This unless you underestimate and consider him as a spinner He'll bat at 7 & can swing the new & old ball.India team management will opt for dust bowls & we'll be able to play 3 spinners against poms if we have him at 6. Zak will be our only seamer in the XI with Ashwin,Ojha & the 3rd spinner (Harbhajan/Chawla).Irfan will be a supporting bowler. As an allrounder he can do a good job in the test team.

Swings the old ball? :dontknow: Let him swing the new ball first - we are talking about Test matches. If you want to play three spinners you as might as well bring in a proper batsman at No.7 + 3 spinners (whoever they are) + Zaheer Khan. If I'm not wrong the last time India played 3 spinners was in Mumbai 2004.

He swung the white ball in the last series so he'll swing the red ball more.He swung the red ball a lot in the last FC season for Baroda. He swings the new ball into the right handers & swings it out with the old ball(reverse swing).Playing 3 spinners is an idea against poms to beat them 4-0 & take revenge.Whether it happens or not we've to wait & see.

Dost, for both swing to be effective you need decent pace (not 90 mph but not 80 mph too) else batsmen at the international level will continue to cover it. The alternative is to have a quick pitch which you don't want to because it is a dust bowl. The red ball also swings lesser than the white one. I don't see any point in playing 5 bowlers as well - 3 spinners will bowl 70-75 overs and Zaheer can bowl another 15.

I'm not saying he should be selected as a frontline bowler at the moment.
Stan AF Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 :--D Dont worry folks, in fact bookmark this thread. What has happened against South Africa is the wake-up call England needed to rebuild yet another world number 1 champion team. Im afraid Strauss time has come to and end and the Cook reign will begin with a test whitewash against the mediocre Indian side. What are your predictions guys?

Serani Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Well guys you may have noticed a distinct lack of Serani during the test, infact you were possibly more concerned about what the bloody hell was going on with ICF so you couldnt access my cutting edge analysis for a few days. Anyway lets look at the test, or actually lets not because winning the toss and batting first was pretty much all you needed to do to win this test! Predictions for the next test? Well just watch out guys because England react very well to the critics im sure India will be bundled out on the first morning.

suraj Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Kudos to England - well deserved and a really good win for them that counts for a lot considering the Indian conditions and pitch
BERGKAMP Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 in a way it will be good if england can hammer us 3-1 now and help us get rid of some of the trash in the team - (gambhir sehwag tendulkar yuvraj dhoni harbz)

Pakistan Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 :WTF: Same was said about 8-0 nothing will happen And yeah we're winning 2-1/3-1. Dravid and Laxman did retire after 8-0 defeat. It is another matter than one of them was replaced by test failure Yuvi. On the brighter side, you have an exciting player Pujara in the team now.
