If Fletcher goes, Who would be your next choice?

I am surprised with all events gone before that people really think coach plays a big role. We have had: - Fletcher slapped down by Srini for going in favour of DRS - Fletcher not seeing any domestic cricket as far as I am aware - Has no role in selection - No role in monitoring future talent e.g. A tours - Is one hefty mofo. Is he really toiling providing practice for batsmen/bowlers? Doubt it. So what will change with someone else?
Well even in that case it's partly his fault too. No self-respecting coach would let BCCI dictate terms like that. Fletcher has been a failure needs to be replaced. I believe he was very much part of the decision not to chase down 85 in WI. That was essentially the beginning of the end.

why?they arent human?even the greatest go through thier lows n need motivation from time to time
Well if you are not motivated by indian tricolour and playing for indian team. Then its highly unlikely you will get motivated by a words of a coach.Even if you need captain is enough.

So why should we think the BCCI won't just appoint another yes-man after sacking Fletcher? End of the day there is far more evidence that fundamental problems merely coincided with Kirsten departing. Kirsten worked with Gambhir, Sehwag, Tendulkar, VVS in superb form and Zaheer in the best period of his career. Now those days are gone. You cannot hope to do anything with badly performing players. Now if the coach goes to BCCI and demands more power to actually address these problems then his ass will be kicked out onto the street.

I am just saying as a follower of the team that for the betterment of the team we don't need a puppet with no real power.

Venku Prasad.... he has about 4 coaching certificates from UK and Aus. Plus all our chotu cricketers will have to look up to talk to him so their confidence and body language will get a lift immediately... except for poor unlucky sharmaji

T.A Shekhar corrected umesh yadav runup during champions league.Ishant I do not know but i take your point. He looks like someone who is intrested. They were showing him he was with a ball and looked quite involved talking with bowlers.

Coach can be as much interested as players. Motu Duncan knows seniors rule the roost, gods and rock stars won't even listen to him, why bother ? Make money for 2 years and leave India peacefully.

A bowling coach needs time in the nets with bowlers which they rarely get because they are mostly playing matches or travelling. They need to organize a fast bowlers camp with bowling coach.
