no :(( college call but i saw a couple of deliveries vs windies..he should learn to bowl top spinner or doosra to be different from others.but afaik,he`s left hand bowler,so he will have to depend on flight,spin,drift,angles..but many left handers can bowl like that :nervous:

What a **** of crap . Doosra really ? Harmeet is one of the rare exceptions . Has no fear of flighting the ball & more improtantly gets a deceptive loop when he does that . Very old school.

He may well turn out to be a spinner who turns the ball quite a lot but my point was that even with the spin he has been getting he has been a revelation. He doesn't depend on turn alone and has plenty of other ammunitions in his armory including flight, drift, control, bounce etc. If he can turn it more than Ojha frankly he's a better bet than Ojha and should be fast-tracked into the Test team before he gets exposed to IPL & T20 cricket. Chopra definitely deserves consideration as he has out-performed his more illustrious colleagues in conditions that were extremely tough to bat. 3 50s in 5 matches is quite consistent in these tough situations and he may well be a great addition for us in Tests. The only thing he needs to learn is how to rotate the strike. Once he masters that he can be a great prospect for us in Tests.

and since when did we start selecting people on the basis of how they perform on seaming condition. chand, baba and zol will out perform him in the subcontinent and get selected if they will, before chopra. also other three guys bring something extra to the table, with chand you get explosive opener maybe future captain. with baba you get spinner option. with zol you get left handed middle order bat. chopra has his work cut out for him. dont see his future beyond domestic .

In test matches, especially overseas, you need opener who can see of new ball.

He has a pretty decent technique and only needs to learn how to rotate the strike. That should be easier to accomplish than tightening up their games which some of the other players need to do.

Hobart, a proper freaking ground. he made 160 from 142 balls and Australia lost by 187 run. and the best part is that it was his debut match. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/393149.html and this is just one guy, i can tell you about 2-3 more U19 openers who has better stat then chopra on seaming wickets and are still young enough. this chopra guy did nothing special for you to make such statement.

You are clueless. Conditions matter a lot how you bat. Those 100s were scored on flat tracks. 3 50s in seaming conditions against new ball where average score was 192. He plays slow but has some class shots. First count how many opners have more 50s than him in this torny at Tony Ireland pitch

Kohli was a perfect example.We didnt fast tract kohli once he had success in U-19 world cup.We let him play a couple of seasons of domestic cricket and develop as a player.And now he is reeping the rewards. Good thing with most of these guys is almost everyone of them is a regular in their domestic side.Only fast bowlers should be fasttracked once they show promise.Spinners and batsmen should be alowed to develop in domestic cricket a bit before they are selected imo
