Imagine what would have happened if it was a three test series. :((

Probably the difference between an Indian series win and a tie, given how easily their middle order caved in the second test.[/quote'] As far as Amla is concerned, he has got a pretty good technique of playing spin on a slow track, but when it comes to playing on faster pitches i still think, he will struggle a little bit because he goes across and also shuffles a bit around his crease, with these decks, he can adjust it late as the ball comes late after pitching due to the slowness of the track, but if he do so against a good spin bowler on a relatively quick pitch, i am sure he will be a candidate for leg before.Otherwise from his temperament point of view, he is outstanding. Talking about poor technique, I think Dhoni also has a poor technique, but he is very effective in his own way.So i have no problem if a player performs, without having a proper technique, rather than having a technique and not piling on runs when needed.

I doubt there's any frustration for him like EVER This inning was absolutely top class. I mean England never looked like picking wicket of either Smith or Amla. They didn't get chance to even make many appeals and oooh-aahs in any session.

Robelinda Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Good player, but hard to judge him properly, pitch was a complete road. He has played better innings in SA over the years in tougher conditions. Still a fine player though, classy.

Robelinda Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Unsure about his ability against spin, he wasn't tested much even in India last few series. Pitches were flat. Looked all at sea against SL in SL against the spinners, even in bangladesh i can recall him being knocked over easily.

Cook, Strauss, KP, Amla, Bravo, Kallis, Chanderpaul, Williamson, McCullum and the list goes on....
