Old guy
I think there was the 15 overs powerplay. 1st 10 overs and then the bowling power play that needed to be taken before the 20th over I think but no batting powerplay ok.. Link to comment
Laaloo
Kohli facing more balls = more dangerous to Australia than anything else. He hardly gave any chance in this series. no doubt but with a large total and if Dhwan had gotten out early, there were still chances for the likes of Dhoni and Jadeja to choke. Dhoni wasn't that impressive today Link to comment
Old guy
did not see this match' date='but we lost our first wicket there in 10th over at 47.how is that frenetic boundaries?:hmmm:[/quote'] 9 runs from 36 balls on other hand tendulkar was going at strike rate of 160! see the problem? so we were slogging at one side and playing test match at other Link to comment
Lord
were there batting power play when south africa chased 400 there were 20 overs of PP IIRC.lemme check Link to comment
Number
come on expecting the likes of badani and laxman to chase 300? http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64788.html chased 326 with just Dravid and Laxman on a flat track in 47 overs. Drakes, Collins, Dhillon are of same quality as Faulkner, Watson, Mckay. Link to comment

Laaloo
One batsman did go mad.. except he could not sustain it longer. Hard to sustain it longer when the batsman at the other end is going at a pathetic rate Link to comment
Old guy
but overall we did not go mad did we we did . one end guy was slogging and on other hand guy was playing test match and got out cheaply after taking in so many overs! this is now how you chase.. you have to keep playing normally and score at rate of 5-6 without risk and the ntry to stay above rate when well set. even without power plays there is no excuse to defend at one end and let other guy get out Link to comment
Lord
One batsman did go mad.. except he could not sustain it longer. yes, maybe the pitch wasnt flat.our bowlers those days were even worse than now:giggle: Link to comment
Laaloo
did you watch that match? just because the guy is striking at a good rate, you can't term it as slogging. That could have proper cricketing shots for all we know. Link to comment
Old guy
One batsman did go mad.. except he could not sustain it longer. yep..you need 100's and ths is no how you score them..unless ur name is kohli :giggle: Link to comment

If ganguly was competent at the other end, Sachin wouldn't have had to take the extra risks who knows Link to comment

Lord
Hard to sustain it longer when the batsman at the other end is going at a pathetic rate yep the problem was actually slow scoring from one end rather than going for too many boundaries Link to comment
