The pilot episode depicted a plane being flown into the New York World Trade Center; it originally aired six months before 9/11. Foreshadowing a number of conspiracy theories which would arise in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks, the plot of the March 4, 2001 episode depicts a secret faction within the US government plotting to hijack a Boeing 727 and fly it into the World Trade Center by remote control. The stated motive was to increase the military defense budget by blaming the attack on foreign interests. He had a evacuation plan JUST for plane attacks, and made sure the drills were carried out periodically. He managed to evacuate all but 12 MS employees, and died helping the 12 left.

Take for example, the little matter of training the pilots for 9/11, that was already in play before this programme was aired. Dig deeper and you can imagine the matter of picking the trustworthy guys, getting money in, planning the entire operation (which included even killing of US sympathizers back home like Ahmed Shah Masud) and surely it has been planned for lot longer. This is more akin to a fear coming true. Like many of us fearing what happens if a bunch of well trained and well armed guys start shooting in a crowd?? Well that was Mumbai 26/11. But they arent the same, are they?
