150956.2.jpg 'Yuvraj has proved a lot of critics wrong' http://www.espncricinfo.com/champions-league-twenty20-2012/content/current/story/586828.html
Yuvraj's innings lasted over five-and-a-half hours and he took the field after lunch on the second day during Central Zone's innings, standing in the slip cordon for most of the day. Dhawan, who made 121 and batted for over 20 overs with Yuvraj during their third-wicket partnership, praised his senior partner's mental strength. "I felt really good for Yuvi paaji," Dhawan told ESPNcricinfo. "He is such a motivation for all youngsters. It was a classy innings. I loved seeing him from the other end. The way he came in and started batting, I [laughing] told him he had almost finished the game. He is a very strong man mentally. "If someone is scoring a double-century, he has to be fit. He was running very fast during the innings. We ran several quick singles and threes."
Another KT thread :hysterical:

This is good news' date='he is defintely make a case for the test team if he keeps this up.the main thing is that he needs to play more first class cricket before the [b']england tests.
And find a spot in the XI? No thanks.

Indians in general are not fit. You put a guy like Yuvraj or Ashwin on the Australian squad their fitness will increase ten fold. This has to do with the culture not Yuvraj specifically.

Totally agree here....despite all this noise about T20 IPL fielding coaches crap...India has pretty ordinary fielding standard compared to their contemporaries. Now if someone wants to feel better by comparing to 80s & 90s Indian squad they can very well do that. Yuvraj I believe is still not there but hopefully will catch with best in India. I still would like to know how time Indians spend on slip catching, hitting stumps, throw, sliding in boundary etc ?

Is it me or does look to have slimmed down and looks fitter Looks lie jadeja, raina, virat amd rahane in the field has woken him up and he got fitter.
Does look better than a few months ago' date=' he just needed time and matches. He was always going to be unfit after a long break[/quote'] That maybe good news, but how did we even end up in this state where our players go thru cycles of repeated weight loss, followed by an inevitable weight gain. That is then followed by fan/media outrage and the cycle repeats itself. Lets be clear on one thing - These guys are not training to look fit and sexy in front of the ladies on Saturday night parties. They are vying to represent the country. There's absolutely ZERO excuse to turn up to play for the Indian team being in anything other than top-class physical shape. Just look at somebody like Mike Hussey. That guy was a true pro who was in great shape EVERY single time I have seen him.

I know its embarrasing. Look at ZK. He is 34, just been dropped. You would think he would be super fit doing all he can to prolong his carrer, instead gets fatter and fatter. Look at Lee and Hogg in contrast

Sehwag is another. They are proffesional athletes, they just need to focus on doing all they can, yet fat. At least our bollywood stars known its their only job and make sure they look good :cantstop:
The disappointing fact that is many of these players have extended off-seasons when they pretty dont have much to do, apart from just hitting the gym 2-3 months/year and getting in tip-top shape for the next season. I wish our guys took their cue from the NBA players. After a grueling, non-stop, 8 month regular season, they take a couple of weeks off and are then back on their training regimen in the summer.

Someone forgot to bump this:--D Same old problems with yuvraj
What same old problems? Don't you know he is working hard to regain his fitness? On what basis can you say that the problem of being unfit persists? Stop whining about it. He will be back with a bang to shut you and your thread up.
