He was part of the 2011 winning world cup team and he was one of our best ODI bowler after his comeback in August 2010, he got an ankle injury in England in 2011 in the last match of the tour which put him out for 3 months but since then he's been never picked again or discussed in the media. surely he deserves another chance in limited overs format. his statistic during that period (25/08/10 - 16/09/11) in ODIs were 39 wickets @ 27 with economy of 5.05. i guess not many discarded seamers could have been any different. If he had done well in this match he would have done worse against SL. There you go.. don't trust our discards. They are equally bad.

Dinda took 4/19 in his last T20 international yet has been made to warm the benches while we continue to give more matches to Zaheer Khan to get back his rhythm.
I am sure you watched that game didn't you ? Wickets 8,9 and 10 nothing great. In addition, SL required 40 odd runs of 18 balls. You read that as great form, good for you.
17.2 to Chandimal, 133.5 kph, and with that SL lose their last recognised batsman, full on middle and off, he made room to loft it down the ground but mistimed it, Kohli ran to his right from long-off and took it on the fall 116/8 17.4 to Eranga, 132.4 kph, Eranga goes for the big hit and he miscues it as well, it was in the air for a long time and Ashwin at long-off only just managed to catch it 116/9 17.6 to Malinga, 136.5 kph, and India round it off comprehensively! No last-minute panic tonight, Malinga backed away and tried to hook a short ball, got the top edge and Dhoni jogged to his left and took the catch 116/10

LOL @ people calling munaf crap, look at the figures that i've posted for that period:haha: people mentioning agarkar  munaf was a regular bowler in indian colours and played 27 ODIs matches in 13 months before his ankle injury so obviously he wasnt dropped because of his form but why the selectors havent picked him again?

We need to give a look to new bowlers like Shami Ahmed' date=' Awana, Nechim from the next tournament.[/quote'] Totally agree. If balaji was selected on Ipl performance, Awana should have been the first person to be selected.

What we need is a bowling coach or at least a captain who tells these people HOW to bowl. It's common sense that in the death overs you want to be bowling as many yorkers as you can. Balaji just kept bowling brainlessly down the off-side, to the point where the batsman knew what it was going to be every time and made him look like a joker at one point by shuffling across and putting it comfortably away at square leg. Death over bowling practice is straightforward and you need to do it how Malinga does. Just put a pair of old shoes at the crease and keep bowling at them. Also, these guys have no sense of variety whatsoever. Same thing over and over again. What happened to the odd short ball? Don't think I saw any. Their idea of variety is bowling a full toss and watching it fly away.
