Dhoni should be sacked as captain in all 3 formats!

Recommended Posts

With Ganguly' date=' it was very visible that he is involved with cricket off the cricket pitch and beyond the days when match is going on. Dhoni's is hardly found to be anyway associated with cricket when match (an international) is not going on. It is too the extent that a senior player like VVS Laxman wasn't able to reach him when needed.[/quote'] And so? Zaheer, Nehra and Harbhajan worked hard and played well in domestics and earned their chance to play for India, if Ganguly backed them once they started playing for India doesn't mean they were found by him.

He has seen him bowl in ozzieland. Either he doesnt has brain to pick a good bowler or he his stubborn as mule as a poster says.

Who knows how Umesh is bowling in nets ? Umesh had a pretty mediocre FC season before coming to SA. Perhaps his rhythm is not good and struggling with his line and length. We cant judge sitting in our homes thousand miles away, without having an iota of knowledge of what's happening behind the scenes.

Doesn't matter how Umesh is bowling. Considering our bowling has been failing for a long, long time, we simply cannot afford to think so short term on a match to match basis We keep on blaming bowling, but what plans are there to improve bowling? Have we identified long term prospects? Are we grooming them? According to central contracts, BK, etc seem to be India's long term plan. But then we don't even play them Contrast this with batsmen like Rohit, Dhawan. Dhawan has failed since CT, just like BK. Was he dropped? How long a rope is rohit getting? Why? Because they are India's long term batting prospects according to management The only way to improve our bowling in the long run is to identify young prospects and then groom them. Play them in all conditions. We had no problems replacing old batsmen like Gambhir, Sehwag when they were failing. Did we look at their net performances? But in bowling we go back to tried and tested failures like Ishant Clearly in bowling, neither Dhoni, nor management has any long term plans about young bowlers and how to develop them. Like you, they might be thinking very short term, based on one match or one net session or one FC session. That is not how you develop bowlers BK, Yadav, etc have shown they have good skills. Now they just need to be groomed and coached and shown direction for long term. Just as management is doing for Rohit and Dhawan. That is the only way they will develop. If they are constantly in and out of the team with their place in danger every two match, they will never bowl all out or improve

Umesh non-selection may have something to do with politics. Umesh is from Vidhabha which is Shashank Manohar's association who doesn't share good equation with Srini. Dhoni being Srini's man may not want to encourage players from Vidarbha. Pankaj Singh also seems to be suffering from such politics.

We saw him in one odi. Bowled it at 90 mph plus and was not as trundler fans like to term it spraying it. Bowled well despite dhobis insane handling of him yeah same joke captain who must have been judging rahane for over year in nets and not playing him. Why dont dhoni judge himself? And I suppose Ishant is loking good in the nets? He does not look good in nets or pitch. Must be impressing somewere and i suspect its back at the hotel

No. Dhoni backed himself once he got a chance. Along with the selectors Ganguly too wanted to try a different wicket keeper - batsman when DK and Parthiv were sucking badly.
he failed in the first series against bangers, easily would have dropped him ,gangs promoted him to no 3 where he got his first century

Agree with most of what you said but dhawan failed after CT? He scored hundreds and did well in WI and Zim series. Bhuvi bowled some good spells after ct but since the flat track odis, he has not been the same yeah

Dhoni didn't give chance to Aaron in ODIs against England when we were losing all matches.
When asked team management told, he is all over the place hence Munaf, PK and VK are preffered Then he played in India vs England 2 months later and was fairly accurate.

There is a theory going around that Umesh is perhaps not in rhythm. Ishant was definitely not in rhythm nor in form. Why was he persisted with then , till the time he recovered a tad ? Umesh looked decent in the televised Ranji match and the ODI. He is getting a raw deal. There is definite favouritism going on.

We batted an innings more :beee:
Wrong logic. (and I thought you are a brilliant CA :headshake:) Overall runs scored by both the teams were almost equal ( with India scoring just 5-6 additional runs overall- in first test match, they had scored 7 more). Doesn't matter how many innings Indians or SA batsmen played. Right logic is, Batting numbers were evenly distributed among their batsmen then us. Their bowlers scored runs, our did not. Their WK scored runs our didn't.

Yes that was insane Dhoni cant handle fast bowlers, not prepared to play with them and develop them, would sack him on just that basis He is trying to destoy fastest bowler in India now. The man is an idoiot of highest order But his decsions, is this not a reflection when you have no accountability. As no matter how many games you lose for your country, no matter how much you pick the team based on personal interests and who does what in the hotel. No matter what you do, you know that you cant be sacked as your godfather is presdient of BCCI who will always protect you.
