Indian stats in world T20

Bala our highest wkt taker and some people here want to drop him
Balaji always gets wickets. But he resorted far too many slower balls rather than conventional deliveries. But his fielding was just  . Other than that he was least of our worries in this world T20. our openers are the biggest culprits in this debacle to go with Dhoni's brainless tactics and team selection.

I was just being Sarcastic man...but you are right by no strech of imagination either him or Rohit have been our worst performers....Don't see why this blind hate....Chawla,Dhoni,Sehwag and Gambhir are probably 3 names that should be on the list

A part timer Yuvraj returning back having more wickets than the lead spinnerAshwin? Wasn't Bhajji pilloried for the same during the WC? And those batting stats tell us where we failed. Raina did not hit a 6 during the tournament and that surely hurt us, lack of fire power in the lower middle order (and a non existent opening pair)

Actually Ashwin bowled well in this tournament. Apart from the rain affected match he did a good job. He was attacking unlike Bhajji who was darting right through the world cup.

Ashwin bowled in powerplays and death overs and has an Econ rate of 6. He has been miles our best bowler in this world cup.

Rohit Sharma, with all the talent he has in the World, can't even hit a proper cover drive! I mean, how many times have you guys seen him hit shots along the ground?

/ I would still pick him in the Test squad.
There's nothing to suggest actually that Rohit would be a huge success at the Test level. He failed in the tour games in Australia and also against WI-A. (One 50+ score in ten innings(both tours put together), if I remember correctly) If he cannot score against 'A' level bowlers, I have very little hope for him against proper attacks in Tests.

Might not be a huge success but deserves a change in Test over Raina any day. There is no harm in trying him. 'A' tours don't tell us the whole story. Those were pretty tough conditions for batsmen aswell.

The question remains though - whom would Rohit Sharma play for in the current setup? Gambhir/Sehwag or Pujara? No way - even if Gambhir is dropped I would give Rahane a chance and not Rohit.
