vayuu1 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 yeah they all just bowl tons of overs and pick wickets no one is exceptional IMHO ,I will take a quality fast bowler over a quality spinner any day,coz they can run through teams on any surface, that being said a very good bowling unit will be much better then a single quality fast bowler.
Old guy Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 IMHO ' date='I will take a quality fast bowler over a quality spinner any day,coz they can run through teams on any surface, that being said a very good bowling unit will be much better then a single quality fast bowler.[/quote'] but we will lose home advantage but it worked when zack was on song so i guess even with quick bowlers we can do well
express bowling Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 In 2009' date=' when Umesh Yadav played his first Duleep match, he had similar pace, fastest of 141K and he was 22 too, Kaul also is 22. I am sure he too will gain a bit more pace in next 2 years.[/quote'] I think he will touch 145 k if he plays internationals even now. The domestic speed guns are atleast 4/ 5 k slower most of the times. I remember Umesh and Aaron bowling together in an A team match around the time they got selected. They were.looking quick but clocking 135 to 143 k. In internationals, immediately afterwards, they clocked 140 k to 148 k.

Though at home we need 2 spinners. But let's not get carried away. While these fast bowlers look promising they are no Steyn and Philander yet and as we know Indian fast bowlers get injured or decline.
Lord Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Harmeet Singh is the only good one,but poor kid isnt getting a game for Mumbai, should move to Punjab I think

People are getting a bit carried away.

msb1991 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 People heavily criticising Sandeep in a match where he is not taking wickets are being foolish. He has obviously bowled better in matches where he has taken wickets, else he wouldn't have taken wickets. Everyone has bad days.
vayuu1 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 but we will lose home advantage but it worked when zack was on song so i guess even with quick bowlers we can do well No way ,our pitches and outfields are abrasive and will asist reverse swing ,add to that, the low bounce or variation in pitch will make them more dangerous.

Cevno Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Aakash Chopra @cricketaakash Punjab fielding as many as three spinners against Saurashtra, but Rahul Sharma isn't one of them. #Ranjitrophy
vayuu1 Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 As I type Mumbai loses Nayar and are in trouble 169/5 :yay:

People are getting a bit carried away. bowls do clock quicker in international matches than domestic matches. BK and Shami are two examples. BK was barely clocking 135 in Ranji match, mostly around 127-133 range, but in ODI, he clocked up to 139.

As I said, the domestic speed gun readings are definitely slower by 4 to 5 k. Further, why are you comparing the average speed with the probable fastest delivery ?

Average speeds i think give a better idea of how quick a bowler is not fastest ball. Anyways, Kaul at most will clock similar to Shami at the moment because of speed guns.
