vvvslaxman Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Mandeep epic :fail: on a flat pitch . :fishing:
rkt.india Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 wow' date=' I thought you never rated Pankaj, has he improved then of late? I thought it was a travesty he did not tour WI and NZ with the A team.[/quote'] Yes. I didnt rate him much earlier but Mayrick Pringle has really done a great job with him. His action is more refined and strong now so he is up in pace. He was in 123-128k range before, now he is in 130-136 range that is what test bowler should be able to bowl at least. He is very accurate and no freebies, bowls from close to the stumps.
kruiser Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 :(( Not again Actually good that he is injured before the tests start and not after bowling 5 balls in the first test. Zak should seriously consider coaching career now.. would be a good mentor to upcoming fast and medium pacers.
veer Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 wow.. Bhajji is strugglying royally.. he shouldnt be anywhere near the test squad.. should go with ashwin and ojha..

Old guy Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 10.05am - A case for Pankaj? I know he is bowling in hepful conditions - both underfoot and overhead - but Pankaj Singh is sending a timely reminder to the selectors that he exists. From what I understand, he never graduated to the next level because of a lack of pace. However, apart from Umesh Yadav, I don't quite see any India bowler setting the speed gun ablaze. And Pankaj Singh has now taken nine wickets for 83 in Kolkata to keep defending champions Rajasthan alive in the contest. I know it's a bit of a far cry, but Pankaj deserves to at least be discussed in that meeting in Mumbai pace is overated imo u can get wickets with 135 thats enough for me
Old guy Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 swing in india.... rituraj can swing them both ways something about his action is not right.. it looks awkward dont know why

Old guy Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 What is pankaj singh stock ball and does he swing or seam it? swing.. but its not just in air he hits deck ..there is some zip, bounce also he is tall that helps according to rkt he swung both ways yesterday (i wasnt able to see whole day... was busy :D ) but form what i saw he was very consistent and bowled as well as any indian fast bowler hasi n last year or so :P
rkt.india Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 What is pankaj singh stock ball and does he swing or seam it? didn't you watch the game live. His stock ball is out swing, also can bring the ball back, and has bowled some snorters as well in this match, has also gained in pace whcih he was lacking before, can bowl long spells with accuracy. He is far better now than what he was 2 years ago. The good thing he is not giving free bies, 5/50 in 25 overs in first innings and now 4 more in seocnd for 33 in 19 overs. so total 83/9 in 43 overs less than 2 rpo and that is some performance while he is coming back from injury. I back him ahead of Dinda because he is tall and is bowling as quick as Dinda bowled in this match.
Old guy Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 he is bowling right now...first ball right over off stump he is bowling within himself u can tell.. avg of 25 not bad

India-KXIP fan Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 What is pankaj singh stock ball and does he swing or seam it? Probably just another 130 trundler. Don't believe these Ranji followers hype. :haha: Ishant, Umesh looking good though. Ranji followers always hype chit bowlers like Danda and then they come to international level and play more matches than No. of wickets. :haha: Ishant dismissed Rahane, Pujara etc recently. Zaheer doesn't look too good anymore but, I think he's finished but lets see. He may be trundler pace but is very skilled.

rkt.india Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 its the best time for him to get a look in. He can be handy in SA as well.
India-KXIP fan Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Batsmen scoring in Ranji have been 50-50. Great ones like Pujara and chit ones like Rahane. But bowlers all we have seen is Vinay Kumars, Danda's and Joginder Sharma's :cantstop: These are the top Ranji bowlers. The selectors know what they're doing. The current bowlers are the most talented and have the highest chance of becoming good at that level.
shortbread Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Sehwag 50 up, despite the finger injury and the precarious position Delhi is in. At least one of the openers is getting into nick, he was also decent in the CLT20.
