Yes. He is fast medium bowling range, bowls with round arm action, is sharp and has been coached by Ian Pont in Haryana, last camp was in May. He debuted last season but was not much successful with only a few matches under his belt but this seaon in the abscence of Harshal Patel, he has become their front line strike bowler, has aleady taken 23 wickets and this is only his 4th match going on at an aveage of 15 and SR of 33.

If he is to make the test team it has to be through his batting, there is nothing Test class about his bowling and he would be used as a mere part timer if he were to get in Indian team. That said there is no space for him at 6, every contender for No.6 barring maybe Raina is ahead of him batting wise.

Doubt it. But recent form is impressive. Only batted once in each of his last 7 four day games. 3 were non Ranji and he got centuries in all of them. His lowest score was against England which was 92. Then he has scored 3 centuries in 3 Ranji games. But he's already 28. Edit: He actually finally batted twice this time and had a duck first innings. So 8 innings, 6 centuries, 1 ninety and 1 duck.

Not a surprise to see pacers from the North Indian sides dominating the bowling charts. Pitches have been bowler friendly at Mohali, in Lahli, in venues in HP and also in UP. And the bowlers from these dies have exploited the conditions beautifully. Its a pity none of the Punjab matches have been shown live on Star to see how good Sandeep, Sid Kaul and Jiwanjot have been. Hopfully we get to watch them play on a sporting pitch in the future rounds.

the bowling stats are stunning.... Perhaps the early season wickets are aiding the seamers much more or perhaps the bcci's directive for quicker wickets is really getting implemented??? The first spinner in the list lands at number 5 wow!
