SLICKR392 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 It really doesn't matter how out of form one might be there are some batsmen you can't take your eyes off. Few of my picks [might be argued by other but personal opinion] My stand out would be Dravid. Again, its not because he is one of my favorite bat but the reason I started following him was due to his brilliant technique and crispy shots. His *ooph* factor has to be the front foot cover drive and the square cut IMO. Could watch the cover drive & his square cut all day. One of "the best" batsman of spin bowling. His technique is right up there because he literally kills the venom of a delivery (usually against quickies) that is the swing and the follow on, i.e. the shot, is just heavenly. A lot other comes to mine such as VVS. Tendulkar's cover drive and straight drive. Lara's brilliant & powerful cover drives with the long bat lift. Those are pretty obvious yet brilliant ones. Many might object with me here but an other batsman of whom I could just watch batting all day is Gambhir. His shots might probably looks better as he is a lefty. I just love watching his front foot or rather the cover drive which he plays advancing down the ground, could watch it any day. Included a poll. Sorry if I've missed out on any. Just for the record : Few of the worst looking bats. Chandimal -Smith -Samit Patel.
Crookbond Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 I went for VVS Laxman, Brian Lara and Virender Sehwag.
GautiMaan Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Yuvi has a beautiful arc that followes from his bat lift,i enjoy that
rixxuu Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 sachin is my pick. any body wondring what is bating can watch sachin bating. the most orthodox style of bating ever in my opinion...
mhr123 Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Even though i have selected all the Indian batsman but no one can match SRT / VVS when they are in full flow...
Sean Bradley Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 Watto atm, clean strikes, perfect blend of power and timing..

Raghav_12 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 You can have Arvinda and Jaywardene definitely not Kaluwitharna and Marvan Atapattu! what he is doing in this thread?
Number Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Lara and SRT in their prime. Should have included KP in the poll. Rohit among the youngsters. (serious)
Crookbond Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 what he is doing in this thread? IDK - Ask the poster who took his name up.
Raghav_12 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 IDK - Ask the poster who took his name up. Oh.. It wasn't a comment on your post. I just wanted to highlight that how come that cowlasher who wouldn't have scored even 1000 runs in test cricket, is doing here? Use of your post is just incidental :--D
don_corleone840 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 In current lot KP is the most stylish player in the world. He is right handed lara.

ganeshran Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 SRT and Lara. Ponting batted brilliantly in that 4-5 year period as well.
Raghav_12 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Oh yeah... ? :headshake: I trust you to have that much sense (for not bringing Kaluwitarana in this discussion). Can't help if you don't have that much confidence for yourself :cantstop:
