Of the three, Yuvraj looks the best bet because he can also bowl some off spin. But none of them strike me as capable of being consistent test batsmen. Yuvraj got many chances in the past in tests and floundered it.

i would go with tiwary he will do well in indian conditions honestly both yuvraj and raina aren ot good test players yuvraj got dropped once in this innings and then gave away a good start also keep in mind swann is good against lefties and tiwary did well against him,considering swann will be biggest threat on day 4-5 pitch i will go with good solid no 6 ..we dont need yuvraj's bowling in test better play a proper 3rd spinner

Tiwary was pretty okay against the second new ball in this match. He was not at all comfortable against the short balls, but managed to stay away from them pretty much. I think he has the temperament to play out a few hostile spells. The delivery that got him in this match was a terrific yorker.

see right now we arei n position to even lose at home forget about technique he has good enough technique ,tiwary has good technique for these pitches ..he plays spinners really well and his inside out technique is suited for kind of bounce there is in india i think he will do really well at number 6 ..yuvraj im not sold he always made these pretty 50's its great for odis and t20's but in tests even yesterday he gave away a good start .. if we really want to look into future then yes rahane is best choice who hasp otential to do well even away from home ,im really judging from technique form what i have seen so dont show me stats.. its not like they are gonna select team which i want :cantstop:

that's true and I find it sad although I like yuvraj a lot as an LOI player. the pattern you mentioned has been there for last 6-7 years.

This is how: a) Pujara will see off the new ball after Gauti/Sehwag goes. b) Sachin will comfortably play out Swann and Patel c) Yuvraj will smash Swann and Patel to tiny tiny bits d) Kohli will be there to handle the 2nd new ball and give company to MSD. So, 3, 4, 6 and 8 are pretty stable. Better than having a loose No.6 and No.7 and triggering a collapse.
