Great leaders found inspiration from him including six Nobel prize winners who attributed their principles and methods to him. He was not directly responsible for an independent India, but he mobilized the entire nation which fueled the movement. Neither you nor I can even be a minuscule iota of what Gandhiji represented during the independance struggle. He might have many faults, but saying that he had a mediocre character highlights your ignorance. Tomato, potato..does not change anything!

He walked 240 miles for getting rid of salt tax . He went to great length to getting freedom for *******s like the critics we find here. It doesn't matter what exactly got the freedom. Fact is he worked for it. Do a little research on what he did rather than what he didn't before poo-pooing intentions.
