R Ashwin, A crap Test Bowler?

Blossomed into the circuit with couple of good years in IPL, early test matches against the kiwis and the west indies, two weak batting line ups against spin, got terribly exposed by the english who have traditionally struggled against spin. As a spectator when i watch him bowl on TV, i realise he tries two many things too soon, bowls a leg stumpish line, with no patience to be consistent.

LOL Time is a B*tch. Last year around World Cup when Bhajji was bowling crap, he was bowling well and was THE FIND and now all of a sudden he's getting the stick from people. Few months can change so many things.

Poor test bowler, even Lyon outbowled him in Aus. Ojha is all class, cannot believe he didnt get a game in Aus, and even Mishra got a test last year, total fail. Need to select Ojha first, and then worry about who is next, seems that Ashwin has been picked first, which is wrong. Ojha will destroy Australia.

Too soon to call him crap ' date=' i would wait till the end of this series.[/quote'] I am sorry, but if a spinner is not able to get breakthroughs on a turning hotbed then he sucks. Besides, the English are not one of the best players of spin. He thinks like a t20 bowler...I have not seen him bowl 5 overs on the trot where he has applied considerate amount of pressure. Cook played him easily until the dismissal...and that bowl was about 93 km/hr...took Ashwin a while to realize that pace is needed on this wicket.

He is young at the game' date='Just played a few tests.[/quote'] He has played domestic cricket for a while where the batsmen are good players of spin. If domestic batsmen were crap then even Bhajji would have taken bagful of wickets. The bowling needed on this pitch was simple...as Swann and Monty showed...line, length and pace variation. Build pressure with dot balls and maiden overs.

Ojha is more steady and more suited to play abroad.

One good match and he will be back as the "best bowler" in India.

Still our best offie. Just needs to be consistent each over, no legside, short stuff. Also with DRS he would have much more success. But we can thank Tendu and BCCI for that.
