R.D forever Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 What's that got to do with this thread lol Anyway to answer your question he did have great records against some quality batsmen like Ponting and Amla. And was like the opposite of Ashwin who bullies minnows. Harbhajan is probably one of the few spinners (if not only) in world cricket to average below 30 against the best 2 teams of his time SA and Aus. Not the best in the world recently but at a certain stage he was right up there. Even Murali and Kumble were above 30 against SA or Aus (both in Kumble's case) Ashwin is not bowling well but don't u think it is stupid to bump this thread every time he goes for a four or six  If u really care abt Indian cricket u gotta search for a suitable youngster in Ranji to replace Ashwin and not with Bhajji whose time is clearly over.. Don't repeat "Bhajji is better" line every time u get a chance

Perhaps it suggests something about his ability rather than form...

Number Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 When we scored 414 and SL scored 411 in Rajkot 09 game. Harbhajan's figures were 10-0-58-2 against a much superior batting line up against Spinners. Ashwin although bowls a lot in power play but if he keeps getting outbowled by Sir Jadeja, then being a better fielder and batsman(apparently) , Jaddu might replace him when Irfan Pathan comes back.
Naaz-neesh Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 :hysterical: Ashwin, I am still laughing when Indians called this guy potential great, he just a decent utility IPL bowler. not international class, better india play likes of Ojha or Iqbal Abudallah from KKR.
vandokkum Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Irfan pathan's career was ruined when he was hyped as an all rounder, Ashwin could go down the same path and become a no-rounder.
yoda Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Fastest to 50 test wickets, how the feck did that happen? As of now Ojha should be preferred over him in both tests and ODIs.
Vivek.S.123 Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 :hysterical: Ashwin' date=' I am still laughing when Indians called this guy potential great, he just a decent utility IPL bowler. not international class, better india play likes of Ojha or Iqbal Abudallah from KKR.[/quote'] I am always dying of laughter when Pakis call Umar Akmal better than Kohli. :thefinger:
Desi Cartman Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Why the feck does he stop and throw... I have 2 issues with him: * first, his bowling sucks * The visual of him stopping and bowling in his run makes it very annoying. he is useless

The way he does it, it probably gives the batsman more time since he doesn't really adjust his bowling accordingly. Not to mention it looks so dumb.

Perhaps it suggests something about his ability rather than form... Kohli also seems to fail against big teams. Perhaps it suggests something about his ability rather than form...I don't think so yet. Give the lad Ashwin some more time, he is just 26 and age is on his side.
CSK Fan Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Cant believe so many people were willing to write Ashwin off after just a couple of bad series. His record has been awesome till date

nevada Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 He has done well in one innings. Let us see how he does well in the remaining 7 innings of this series.
CSK Fan Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 He has done well in one innings. Let us see how he does well in the remaining 7 innings of this series. He has done well throughout his career except one series against england. So no one is bigging him up based on this one innings. People were writing him off just after one series
kubrickian Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Cant believe so many people were willing to write Ashwin off after just a couple of bad series. His record has been awesome till date People will criticize when someone is not doing well because they care about the team. Ashwin averaged 50+ with the ball in helpful conditions against England and India lost the series against them after 28 years. Some anger is justified.

Yet people like Sachin, Dhoni, Sehwag and Bhajji were only criticized after years of failing
