jairamesh Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 It is safe to say most us on ICF aren't arm chair fans. I was chatting with an uncle of mine after the end of this match and he was on about how selectors should drop Kohli and Ashwin and bring back likes of Dravid and Mishra. He added India should persevere with Bhajji, SRT, and Yuvi because they are proven players! And I thought to myself "are our selectors any different, are they just arm chair fans making important selections without thought of long term planning, strategy, match conditions, assessing opposition to minute detail etc.!??" So this poll is to select a starting XI for the 3rd Test calling upon ICFers' "expertise" :hehe: based on what they have seen and stats from recent Tests, Domestic, India A matches etc. At the end of the day the selectors have better access to players' fitness, domestic performance report, they are ex-players themselves. Let's see what selectors/Dhoni go for vs ICF selection. OPENERS: PICK TWO Links to other poll pages for ICF starting XI: OPENERS MIDDLE ORDER KEEPER TWEAKERS PACEMEN
Trichromatic Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Proven players. Even Kapil and Kumble are proven players, we should definitely play them in next test.
Number Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I'll go with uncle on this. :winky: Sehwag(for full series) and Gambhir(for 3rd test).
jairamesh Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Viru Gambhir Dhawan Mukund As Rahane isn't a regular middle order player in Tests. :orderorder: pick two only

Trichromatic Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 No poal for wicketkeeper :(( Your favorite poal is there.
Eternal Atma Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Viru and Tendulkar. Restore the ODI combo. Tendulkar can set pace from the beginning with no pressure. He will score loads and show he is still the best.
VRV Singh Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 CSK fanatic is gonna open a can of whoopass here
jairamesh Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Selectors go for Viru, Gambhir and Murli Vijay ICF go for Viru, Gambhir, Mukund/Rahane. I didn't have Murli Vijay even in the list :hysterical: Totally forgot about him!
Ultimate_Game Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Gambhir & Sehwag. Mukund didn't impress at all and I would have Rahane in the middle order.
BeautifulGame Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 All I would say is with Gambhir and Sehwag opening for us we will never win a series overseas.
