Eden curator slams Dhoni

Is it even possible for Eden pitch to behave like Wankhede? The soil is different... :dontknow: How do you suppose the curator can deliver such a pitch... I don't get it.
The demand is not for a pitch like Wankhede but a turning track and a result oriented one and not a slow, low and a flat wicket like Motera which usually produces dull draws.

Maybe it's not possible to make similar pitch. But a turner was refused for 2 reasons 1. Curator doesn't think that is the best pitch 2. He wanted instructions in written. If it is not possible then why did he say that he needs instructions to prepare such pitch?
So that if matches is abandoned or is unfit to play he is not blamed. At this late stage one can only shave all the grass and not water the pitch .

Good on the curator. Eden Gardens has shown some terrific cricket over the years and many a splendid case of pace bowling have been witnessed over here unlike say a Kanpur or a Nagpur. By the way I feel the criticism was as much driven towards Dhoni as it is towards an average cricket fan. Wasn't everyone advocating the same thing - square turners - before the onset of the series??? Tum kaho to disco, Dhoni kahe to mujra?? :winky:
They just realized Indian batsmen are not good in seaming conditions, swinging conditions, bouncy conditions, spinning conditions.. pretty much any conditions that doesn't help batsmen. Flat pitch is the only option for them at this point.

CG - Simple fact when you state a theory everything must conform to it else it is not a theory it becomes a conspiracy. If I say that a cricket ball is round in shape' date=' it is round no matter where you play in the world. [b']IF your Rhiti sports management theory is TRUE, Raina RP Singh et al should have also been in the team. They are not which means you're theory is selective and you are making data from theories rather than theories from data.
That's not true. I am not saying the Rhiti sports theory is correct, but favoritism is not that everyone associated with Rhiti sports is going to be playing for India. Things don't and can't happen that blatantly. Raina is not going to come in place of someone as accomplished as Sehwag because he is associated with Rhiti sports. These kind of influences work on fringe selections and from circumstantial evidence there might be some truth to the Rhiti sports thing given how most 50-50 or even less toss ups have gone in favor of Rhiti sports cricketers. What had RP Singh done to be called up in England? He was a fat slob vacationing in Florida when he was called up. Why has Raina been given chance after chance despite it being obvious to most cricket observers that his game is far from being test level at the moment? How did he jump the queue ahead of Rahane in the series against NZ when Rahane had sat on the bench during the Australian tour? Why was Harbhajan called up for this series when he has been thrashed around by everyone in all formats and all levels for years now? Rhiti sports influence does not mean Harbhajan will play ahead of Ojha or Raina will play ahead of Pujara or RP Singh is going to be selected ahead of Zaheer, but there is a case that they might be getting preferred in fringe selections.

I would argue that even without a sports management company there would be a bias in fringe selections. An example is Kartik for Ganguly because he himself played Left Arm Spin so easily or preference of Harbhajan Singh over Anil Kumble. Selections will never be 100% perfect. So while what you're saying "may be" true but it has got nothing to do with a sports management company but an inherent nature of human bias.

Its his job to do whatever the BCCI ask of him, he does not decide the outcome of matches. rank turners are still what we want/need
Listen to Rahul Dravid in cricinfo, it becomes a lottery in Rank turners rather than skill, It is better to prepare a slow pitch that deteriorates from day 3 and assist our spinners.

If we lose this as well ' date=' then MSD would be made to eat the biggest humble pie ever.[/quote'] Can go the other way, if he wins his decision would be great :nice: But if India lose then I would be mad.

Yes, there would be some personal preference on fringe selections, but there is nothing wrong if it is driven by a cricketing instinct which might turn out right or wrong. However, what we are talking about is a systematic bias and not an instinctive pick. That is completely unacceptable and regardless whether there is any truth to Rhiti sports cricketers being preferred it is a clear conflict of interest. But things like conflict of interest hardly matter when the rot in the system starts from the President of the organization itself.

Difference is the economical benefit.Really the rhiti sports story is one of great mystery.A company is started in 2007 on insistence of m.s dhoni by his close friend ,Many top cricketers one by one sign for the company .The shareholding pattern of rhiti sports and its company rhiti motorsports is unknown.

His internal biases as a cricketer are a completely different issue and it is a false equivalence to equate it with a financial conflict of interest. It is an issue of conflict of interest if Dhoni stands to financially gain from few players being selected in the team. When Kumble was made to quit because of his association with Tenvic even though he had no direct say in team selection, Dhoni's association with Rhiti is far more serious especially when Harbhajan singh magically appeared back in the team despite doing jack in any form of cricket, or RP Singh being called as Zaheer's replacement when even he did not anticipate his selection. This is an integrity issue and if Dhoni is a stakeholder in Rhiti, he should be sacked as captain.
