Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday created yet another record in his illustrious career when he completed 34,000 runs in international cricket, during the first day's play between India and England in the third Test at the Eden Gardens. Tendulkar achieved the milestone in his 193rd Test appearance for India in his 23-years long career. Tendulkar fought hard for his unbeaten 46 before tea, as India reached 172 for four. The 39-year-old cricketer has been under heavy criticism for not deciding on his future, as the talks being fuelled by his poor run in the international circuit.

Still scoring runs at the age of 40!!! Massive respect to this man... May be at prime a lot of batsmen were probably better than him but no one can go on an on and on like this guy can... what a man...

This guy is a living legend. It will probably take decades if not a century for someone else to match his chutzpah in world cricket. He is India's pride and unfortunately some Indians fail to see it. At times, I have criticized him for failing to score and all that but at the end of the day you just want to stand up, appreciate and salute this man for what he has given to Indian cricket. It's amazing that at this age, he's still working hard, grafting for every run and playing for his country. Going out there, practicing, toiling at the nets when he can easily sit back, relax and enjoy his fortune. That is called commitment. India is lucky to have a servant like that. His achievement reflects especially when the fiercest opponents, critics & haters of his team pauses and nods in appreciation every time this guy comes to bat. SRT we love you, keep going! :isalute: :hatsoff:

Some people will realize his worth when he's gone. God forbid! When there won't be a player who scores 500 odd runs in a winning world cup yet does not get the credit. When people won't have Sachin to blame for failures, they will realize how hollow the team is. Indian "fans" have become absolutely addicted to Sachin for over two decades. It won't be easy people, when you get what you have been pleading for - Sachin's retirement.

This is so true.

Also, please note that there is no stroke maker like Sachin left in this world. Unless if there is some little kid out there who's got majestic stroke making skills, I don't see it in the international arena right now. Sure you've got some fantastic run makers of the new generation but they don't compare. Sachin is a different class. The smoothness of his bat-work is incomparable. Everyone will miss it. I promise.
