Rohit S. Ambani Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 He doesn't look like he wants to be there. He has hinted in past that he will consider retiring from Tests to prolong his ODI/T20 career. He may chose to retire from Tests instead of giving up Test captaincy alone. I doubt he will continue to play just as player in Test Cricket if our selector's decide to appoint new Test captain after England series debacle, and probably add Australian tour of India to this too, have a strong feeling they will upset us. Most probably Test captaincy will go to Cheteshwar Pujara.
Magneto Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Don't mind if even Rohit Sharma announces his retirement from Test cricket.
Ultimate_Game Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I would welcome it as it would mean he can carry on a bit more in his best format, which is the odis and hopefully will make a contribution in the 2015 WC.
Ravi. Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I doubt he will. He is still decent with the bat.
namasteji1 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 He is still the best wicket keeper batsman out there, try once Saha, karthik or Patel and you will see what is missing. All others are crappiest batsmen of all times, but he can be relieved from captaincy burden if he wants.
Lord Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 He is still the best wicket keeper batsman out there' date=' try once Saha, karthik or Patel and you will see what is missing. vivek_singh3187 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Good for the team....he doesn't looks any more interested in playing TESTS...better try UDAY KAUL or SAHA (even Dinesh Karthik also) as replacement. He should retire from T20's also....giving an opportunity to Karthik or Robin Uthappa....who can change the gears quickly, unlike Dhohi Though he's still the best option in ODI's, probably the best in world.
Rohit S. Ambani Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 He wont go himself, he said today in press conference.
