Jadeja is more likely to play than him Id have thought, though yes it should be Rahane as he is the more accomplished batsman. Even if it means playing at 6 Jadeja can offer something with the ball too of course, will count in his favour. One of the things MSD did not do so well is using Yuvraj and Sehwag to bowl a bit instead of bowling Ojha and Ash through such extended spells especially in test 2 The selectors said at the start that Vijay was cover for the openers and Rahane is for the middle order, hopefully him being released for Ranji is a sign that he will get his change at number 6, we cant have another Rohit type of situation where a young talent tours with the team for 4/5 years without getting a single game. Jadega's selection is one of the most shocking of recent time, even if they dont play him would have been better to pick someone liek Chand.
yoda Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 One thing about Jadeja (the little I have seen him bat) is that he doesn't throw his wicket away. He can graft. Will be interesting to see how he plays test cricket and I am willing to see him get his chances. His bowling is pretty useless IMO.

He has been a rock against Indian spinners and he virtually cant seem to get out without scoring a big century. Luck has been on his side but still removing him early is crucial if India has to bowl England out cheaply. Pretty sure he was, remember him getting clean bowled by Aaron in the Kolkata ODI before England collapsed to spin. India's chances of winning the next test is reliant on whether they can get Cook out cheaply.

Fell onto's Dhoni's lap when Dhoni was subconsciously looking for a mate like him. Now he's scored 3 triple centuries in two seasons and has made a comeback precisely when the team is in tatters. If he can manage his career well from now on, he can be the next Indian captain in a year from now. Only player who can bat, bowl and field and can play in all the three formats. :good:

Silva Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 We need atleast one part time bowler that can bowl just incase a bowler gets injured so either jadeja or yuvrajs is the only real option we have until Ashwin can play as a genuine all rounder (which will take a while since our batting sucks.)

BERGKAMP Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 it's a very simple concept, glenn mcgrath was a master at it. quickly assess the pitch and work out the best spot to bowl on, then bowl every single ball in your spell there or there abouts. most of bowlers are to retarded to be able to do this.

saneindian Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Looking at how his darts have worked here, is it fair to say we missed him on that Mumbai pitch? His darts would have done wonders on that pitch with so much bounce and turn.
