1983-2011 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 its not whether you want him to go or not but do you think the selectors will sack him from the test captaincy before India's next test series?
Sean Bradley Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 though i would love that to happen but it wont, mainly because we dont have his replacement ready yet.
Raghav_12 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Answer is a disappointing NO. Srini should be sacked first to sack Dhoni. As long as Sini is there, nobody is gonna touch Dhoni.
saneindian Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Gambhir struggling, Sehwag inconsistent and unfit, Sachin on his last legs, Kohli struggling, Zaheer out of the side - A change looks very difficult unless Gambhir or Kohli go onto play match winning knock at Nagpur.
diga Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 though i would love that to happen but it wont' date=' mainly because we dont have his replacement ready yet.[/quote'] replacement for his wicket keeping or for his captaincy? I believe Sehwag, despite his laidback nature can be a stopgap solution for captaincy untli Kohli/Pujara or whoever steps up their performance. For wicketkeeping, there are numerous candidates like Saha/Parthiv/Naman Ojha..I personally prefer Parthiv
CG Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 though i would love that to happen but it wont' date=' mainly because we dont have his replacement ready yet.[/quote'] You rarely have a ready replacement. You got to give chance to somebody to know how good he is.Matter of fact he cannot do worse than dhoni.:cantstop:

He looks lethargic and casual most of the times on field and even when he is batting. How can he inspire the team ? He is also not particularly a smart person and capable of being a test captain. Gambhir is the only alternative but he has been terrible with the bat and not sure of his position yet. In fact, these two guys are responsible for the test team's failure more than anybody else and I find it funny some people are suggesting them to be captain.

kubrickian Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 As cricket_god said' date=' he cannot do worse than Dhoni.. Can he?[/quote'] Of course, he could. We could lose test matches under him too. What will you suggest then ? Keep changing captains one after the other ? The batting needs an overhaul because that's what's been letting the team down. Is a new captain going to teach the batsmen how to score runs ?
vamos_rafa Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 If we draw against Nagpur, then he would and he should stay. As much as it would be dissapointing to draw a test series against England, but that would also mean, that with a very young team(in bowling), we were able to square the series. Otherwise, he should be sacked for sure.

Ohh... all I am saying is we can have temporary transition phase, where losing is ok till we can build a team capable of doing well consistently. Only senior member who will be there for next year till the youngsters find their feet is Viru & is the only alternative to Dhoni. Otherwise we need to go the SouthAfrica way & appoint Kohli the captain

Give anybody a chance except dhoni .He will do better than dhoni.

vamos_rafa Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 :hysterical::hysterical: He should not be in the team let alone be captain. Agree. But, let's discuss with the current set up in mind.
