Trundler27 Posted December 24, 2012 Author Posted December 24, 2012 lol @ the strike rate argument.... seems like we want all top 7 batters to have 100 plus s/r even for the odi side.... that is just nonsensical.... i'm sure pujara's s/r is fine for odi's judging by his list A performances..... plus he is a class batsman rather than a slugger and would be a strong candidate to bolster the middle-order
rkt.india Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 non world cup odi's suck. they should be killed. so you want to play world cup only. I think these non-WC ODIs are more important than actual WC because they help make a team which play the WC.

dangerman1985 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 let him first settle in test cricket. He has not yet proved himself in test cricket. After the australian series and tour of south africa later, we will know how good he is.
yoda Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 in SC' date=' SR less than 90 does not work.[/quote'] Worked for Dravid and Ganguly.
dangerman1985 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Worked for Dravid and Ganguly. It used to work earlier not now and keeping in mind the Indian bowlers, even the strike rate of more than 100 is not enough:nervous:
The Dark Horse Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Pujara should be given a chance, definitely
Sandeep99 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Can't say on this matter! Rohit looks impeccable at times and very ordinary the very next ball! ODIs are not his forte for sure
zep1706 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 The best quality about Pujara is unlike the iplstars he doesn't throw his wicket away, need someone like him in the team.
JaFanatic Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Pujara seems bit slow and his strike rate is not gud enuf for odis.have you ever seen him play list A matches? i've seen him play he is not that slow as you guys are saying and in tests kohli is even slower than pujara! so can we drop kohli from odis for that?:headshake: having said that yes pujara should not get selected for odis atm let him taste some success in test cricket first
Lord Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Rohit's continued selection is baffling.in last series in SL,he scored 13 runs in 5 games Pujara should be selected ASAP.as sabby said, next WC is in Australia n we need proper bats there, not hacks
Lord Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 in SC' date=' SR less than 90 does not work.[/quote'] it does, ask Rohit
Magneto Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Rahane, Tiwary and Rayudu are already competing for that solitary spot. Tiwary scored a 65 in the last game India played. :giggle:
Magneto Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 pujara is fantastic choice keeping in mind next world cup is in australia ... with pujara, kohli coming in middle order batting will be solid probably rahane will open with gambhir and lower order well u can have any hitter if u have solid top order imo chand can come in too as opener but when he has proven himself in this domestic season he has been flop mandeep has been bigger flop with one 200 with atleast 6 dropped catches saurav(a member here ) watched match and said he was unconvincing ...unless he has a one good domestic season he wont be in team there are many other batsmen in contention before him I did not watch the Mandeep 200. I only saw the Mandeep innings where he scored 3. Didn't look very convincing in that. :hmmm: KT saw the Mandeep 200 and said he is not very convinced.

Didn't look very convincing in that. :hmmm: KT saw the Mandeep 200 and said he is not very convinced. Yeah he was getting beat regularly be sir aggy and did not seem to like facing him. Dropped in slip of sir aggy. Also spent about 2 hours padding away some average left arm spinner who was bowling outside leg at him when past his double ton. He did not impress me. But then maybe I have not seen best of him

msb1991 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Pujara seems bit slow and his strike rate is not gud enuf for odis. Rubbish... http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/574138.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/574139.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/574140.html Last three knocks.
saneindian Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Pujara would be our ODI opener once Sehwag has had enough of the shorter formats in a few months time.
King Tendulkar Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Must be in odi team. Let him open. Selectors wake up!!!
Lord Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 gets 203 off 221 against strong MP not an ODI player:laugh:
