Kallis joins 13 000 club Cape Town - South Africa's Jacques Kallis has become only the fourth batsman in history to reach the 13 000-run milestone in Test cricket. Kallis reached the feat at his beloved Newlands on Wednesday, where the Proteas were completely dominating New Zealand on day one of the first Test. He reached 23 runs to move to 13 003 runs, joining Sachin Tendulkar (15 645 runs), Ricky Ponting (13 378) and Rahul Dravid (13 288) as the only cricketers who have scored more than 13 000 Test runs. Kallis also achieved his milestone faster than all three his predecessors, reaching the mark in 159 Tests, compared to Tendulkar (163 Tests), Ponting (162) and Dravid (160). Of the quartet, Kallis also boasts the highest average of 57.07, compared to Tendulkar (54.32), Ponting (51.85) and Dravid (52.31). The Proteas were on 150 for the loss of two wickets, after dismissing the hapless tourists for 45 in their first innings earlier in the day.
