Old guy Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 why does pace even matters now ? its not like we dont have bowlers who can bowl quick i was more excited abt how he manged bowling at death and bowled consistently same with bhuvan...when was last time our new ball bowlers maintained pressure from both ends from commentary i read on cric info he made life of jamshed difficult ..and tht guy is in gr8 form

kubrickian Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Long time since I've seen three fast bowlers doing well for India. Jadeja also kept the pressure on and bowled splendidly. Its usually the third seamer or fifth bowler who releases the pressure after good job by other bowlers. That's why we fail to defend below par scores.

Fast bowlers make all the difference. I remind you of Marshall, Lillee, Thompson, Garner, Steyn, Ambrose etc etc Do I need to go on. Yes dont need 100mph bowlers but at same time 80mph becomes non effective especially if whole attack is like that. One in a balanced attack is ok maybe. But need bowers who can bowl mid 80s and high 80s as well. Shami looks like can bowl 85 mph regualrly, which is good, we need that. Simple logic, if one bowler is doing the same as others at 10 mph quicker, we all know which one will have better record

It seems the old dont worry about pace and just focus and getting ball in right areas is endemic culture. When they should be told bowl with pace but also put it in right areas with movement. Folks it is possible to bowl accuarate and quick at same time!!!

The same posters who atacked him for this , are now lining up to tell out current young seamers to not worry about pace and be accurate.:cantstop:

kubrickian Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 There has to be change in pitches also. Because pitches in India dont assist fast bowlers, pacers need to bowl longer spells to pick wickets. So they gradually tend to lower pace and work more on line and length. Also on slow pitches, the more quicker you bowl, the easier to hit for batsmen.

Lets encourage them to hit good areas and keep bowling quick, maybe quicker. Or be accused of being a prasad clone:giggle:
