rkt.india Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Vijay has been a proven flop he has played 12 test matches and averages 30. what more do you want? most of those tests are abroad. Look at his record in India.
Number Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 not until proven otherwise. How it will be proven ?
shuraim Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 why Aussies, saffer&Eng announce their team before and not sub con teams?
Dumbbells Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Vijay is gonna be useless if they decide to play 4 seamers. He is clueless against short pitch ball and he s got bad back foot technique.
rkt.india Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 How it will be proven ? was not proven in ODIs..
rkt.india Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Vijay is gonna be useless if they decide to play 4 seamers. He is clueless against short pitch ball and he s got bad back foot technique. Not just Vijay, even Dhawan, Tiwary, Rahane all will be clueless then and remember Vijay had 100 against Aussie in test and even then they had good pacers who could bowl bouncers. Yes, his game has been spoiled since then but if he works he should get that back.

Vilander Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 India has produced amazing bowlers' date=' and India had the No.1 Test ranking for 2 years. Not mediocre at all.[/quote'] cricket is not exactly popular in the world if you consider the indian population. India is good only in cricket, again that is mediocrity..India is a mediocre country.
Vilander Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Based on his average of 45 with the bat? Besides he wouldnt be a batsman, he would be an allrounder. There's a difference dude he is a thairsadham ( curd rice) when the going gets tough the cork bursts and everything starts flowing for thairsadhams..
Vilander Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 he has bigger tits than many indian girls Lol that was funny
Vanarp22 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Rahane is not an opener and is not selected in the team as an opener. Rahane opens the batting with Jaffer on the Mumbai team and did so in the Irani Cup.
Vanarp22 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Our selectors are one of the dumbest. They are picking players for the wrong format. Rahane should have made his test debut before his ODI. Dhawan is a LOIs batsman, not a test specialist. Agree:two_thumbs_up:
bharat297 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 dude he is a thairsadham ( curd rice) when the going gets tough the cork bursts and everything starts flowing for thairsadhams.. Lol Interestingly he has outperformed most of our batsmen over the past year in tough situations. I agree maybe outside India he might not be the best choice at 7 (probably better to play a batsman that can bowl a bit) but in India you don't need 7 batsmen and Ashwin's batting performances in India have been very good, and he gives us the freedom to pick another spinner.
Vanarp22 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Rahane should play' date=' but knowing Dhoni's attitude I think it will be Vijay who eventually will get the nod.[/quote'] If you do not want Dhoni to be India's Test captain, become a member of the Anti Dhoni Test Captaincy Club (see my post "Anti MS Dhoni Club")
Ultimate_Game Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 No point flogging a dead horse. SRT has gone the same way Viv Richards did towards the end of his career. Age catches up with everyone and you can't do much about it.
bharat297 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Bit of a left field choice but what about Ambati Rayadu as a potential opener? He doesn't usually open (he has before though) but he is technically pretty sound, he's a natural timer (like Sehwag) and could potentially provide the same Sehwag-like impact at the top of the order for India. Sehwag wasn't an opener until John Wright put him there.
