Pathan is not test class. Bhuv is showing promise with both bat and ball, his technique is also much better than 'throw-it-away' Pathan. If we could develop him into a bowling all rounder, we could play with 3 pacers and 2 spinners to give our attack some variety and also due to the fact that we hardly have pacers of intl quality to play 4 of them at a time.

a lot of people here are way too harsh on Dhoni As for Irfan Pathan not being Test class, he's played 29 Test for us and has taken 100 wickets. He's been bowling really well lately and he's got a batting avg of 30 in Test. He's good enough Shami Ahmed as our 3rd bowler? Selectors will most likely pick Ishant :(( (and say his experience matters) If Aaron becomes fit again ODI/T20 are the more safer option with him Zaheer past exploits are well past So it will be between Ishant or Shami and selectors will go with Ishant

As much as I like the team combination, it's highly risky to have Dhoni at #6 with an AR at 7. The good thing about playing 5 bowlers is thta Indian bowlers have this tendency of not being able to sustain till the end of the series and tend to go off the boil a lot. This would share their workload. But, as I said, it's higly risk prone and may lead to batting collapses.

If you did not watch those series, you can use cricinfo to find out.

For the away team replace bhuddah with Rahane and put sehwag at 6. Pankaj Singh, Shami and Ishant to fight out for the 3rd pacer spot. Openers can be Vijay and Dhawan for the time being. For the home team, again replace bhuddah with Rahane and Vijay and Dhawan can be openers for the time being. Rohit Sharma also needs to made part of the squad (and hopefully Chand, Jiwanjot and Mandeep can figure into the rotation in a year or so).
