What's wrong in standing in queue and buying tickets ? Is this somehow degrading ? Why do Indian people think travelling in buses, standing in queues, doing your own chores is somehow less than honorable ? Terrible mindset. Why are some people here blaming Dhoni over this ?

Nothing wrong in standing in queue. She can stand in queue for everything else, be it school admissions, or at the sabzi store or watever. But when ur brother-in-law who happens to be captain of the Indian Cricket Team, is in ur small town (not even Mumbai) for a cricket match, surely you can be exempted from standing in line for a ticket. It's like the biggest mithaiwala not giving his banja a free gulab-jamun. C'mon it's the perfect fodder for gossip. :agree:

You are missing the point here. In a country like India, if you are well-connected, you can get certain things easily. Like a ticket for a match in your home state where your brother-in-law is the captain of Team India. It's quite astonishing that Dhoni's family could not manage a couple of complimentary tickets despite Dhoni being the all-powerful captain of Team India.

Standing in a queue is not the point. When any Tom, Dick & Harry can easily get tickets, it does seem strange that family members of India's cricket captain had to buy tickets. Generally players/team members, even the ones in squad, get plenty of tkts every game and the home players get even more. So Dhoni didn't use his quota for his family means he doesn't really care about his brother/brother's family. I mean put yourself in that position. Let's say your brother plays for India and is in fact captaining India and you or your wife are queuing up to buy tickets for the game. What would that mean? To me it will mean you and your brother don't get along well.

As per some people here...Dhoni is shameful because he doesnt have any concern for his family members... thats the conclusion people make based on such articles... hence Media catering exactly what some people wanna see...

desperate times call for desperate measures.. In these times, when the cricket captains job is the second most important role in the country,Dont you think Dhoni could have arranged his family to get into stadium even without tickets? Sub Dramabazz

Does the Indian media actually follow the family members of cricketers 24/7 ? They seem to have insights into every players personal lives.
News like this spreads fast in a small town. Easy to pick up a scoop like that, you really don't need to stalk the family members.

Sense of entitlement in our society by virtue of knowing or being close to rich/powerful people. It's so ingrained that its unbelievable when someone acts normal
I would hardly call it corruption that an indian player arranges some tickets for his brother
