rkt.india Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I think a lot people here watched him bowl today and for a 22 year old who made his come back this season after staying out due to several injuries, he has shown that he too is one of the brightest prospect we have. His speeds were good, very consistently around 135K mark, clocking fastest around 142K, was extracting life from the track off the seam as well as in the air, moving the new ball both ways and got reverse swing with the old ball both ways too. Though, his control can still be improved, but he is certainly one to worth investing in and work on. MCcricket Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Impressive this Ranji season has thrown a lot of talent, very impressed with Pandey, have heard good things about A Yadav, S Sharma, Warrier BCCI though is useless, most talent will be wasted, even coaches and selectors suck
rkt.india Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 Impressive this Ranji season has thrown a lot of talent' date=' very impressed with Pandey, have heard good things about A Yadav, S Sharma, Warrier BCCI though is useless, most talent will be wasted, even coaches and selectors suck[/quote'] They have organized a fast bowlers clinic after this FC season.
saneindian Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Moved the ball both ways, was attacking the stumps and bowled with decent control. One of the best opening spells in domestic cricket that I have watched in the last 5-6 seasons. Perhaps only after Umesh Yadav's spell in the Duleep Trophy in 2011. Ishwar Pandey and Pankaj Singh also bowled brilliant opening spells in televised matches this season but those were on livelier pitches. If this pitch had a bit more carry, Kaul could have rolled over Saurashtra. Pankaj, Ishwar and now Sid Kaul..these three have to be the three best pacers outside the national pool.

Don't forget Pankaj Singh and then there is also Ankit Rajpoot, Mohit Sharma and a few others maybe.
Old guy Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 its funny how all of these good bowlers get ignored during ipl well its good thing i guess lol
India-KXIP fan Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Really hope Sid can perform in IPL. Many bowlers have gotten into team impressing in IPL. Hope he plays for KXIP as well, they will own this year. :--D
saneindian Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I don't want to see any of these guys play in the IPL and get lost in the glamour and money on offer.
Cevno Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 T20 requires different sort of skill. These players get lost after getting smacked around like that too early.
India-KXIP fan Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I don't want to see any of these guys play in the IPL and get lost in the glamour and money on offer. He has to. Otherwise it will be hard to get into Indian team. Many bowlers gain recognition there and are selected for test squad like Awana, Rahul Sharma are a few examples. A good FC season helps but you need a good IPL. Pankaj made a bad impression there. Unlikely to be picked.
saneindian Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I hope we do not go back to the likes of Sreesanth, RP, Munaf, PK, Vinay and Mithun anymore. Add Ishant to the list as well. Let them take truckloads of wickets and earn their place back if they desire to play for India again, The success of BK and Shami should give the selectors enough confidence to blood another couple of young seamers in the national side. To start with, rest Ishant and give Pankaj a go in the last 2 ODIs.

Not because of glamour or money because they are entitled to it but these guys should hope to play test cricket first which is the highest form of the game. Once they get there, IPL riches will always follow, rather than other way around. Dont want them to get injured or get defensive and lose confidence because of too much T20 cricket.
Lord Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Apart from Kaul,I was impressed with Kohli's bowling.from what I have seen ,he has a decent technique,he bowled well n can be the seaming allroundeer we need
Number Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Was following commentary on ECI and ICF. Looks good for an A tour. :two_thumbs_up:

Can't see tried and tested failures for champions trophy, Bhuvan and Shami if keep bowling well will go there with Indian team with Ishant/Aaron/Awana/Dinda and Pathan. That leaves Vinay, Mithun and U-madkat etc with Pandey, Mohit, Rajpoot , Sid Kaul. So I guess Siddharth Kaul will make it as his team has done well. I would also send Umesh on A tour to SA to lead the pace attack.
