Few 50s and a ton against NZ and here comes an other meaningless 100 against England. Do you expect him to hit a double hundred every innings ? He's just starting out. Give him time before he gets some experience. The senior batsmen in this lineup failed many times too before they started doing consistently well.

Chocked against good bowling attack, simple as that. Matter of fact people here were expecting 3-4 tons from him. :giggle:

putrevus Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 What is so great about that tour, it was so typical of Indian team of last 10 years before 0-8 disasters .Our much acclaimed batting line up did what it has done always during big four ERA fail miserably first test. Then rest of tour ,one or two of the star studded batting line up per test showed up to keep their batting averages intact.

One of the best young players and has good attitude and works hard. Hype is wrong and I don't agree with that but he doesn't deserve all this bashing.

Tendulkar_Bhai Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 The transition can/will take 5-10 years+, the team of Sehwag, Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, Dhoni, Kumble, Bhaji all hitting form during the same era will probably never happen again, especially as players are bought into the team later and abandoned after a few series. Plus there is nothing wrong with playing players who do well in ODI's getting chances in tests, however its when they prove over and over again they cant play tests and still get picked when everyone has forgotten how bad they are, is the problem. Raina in England and UV v Eng in India classic examples.

At home they will be fine even during the recent England series loss it was old guys who failed this team by doing nothing. Guys like Manju and Ganguly after first test win against England were dismissive of the home test wins talked about only overseas wins should be used to judge the captain/team as if they won some great number of oveseas tests . Ganguly forgot during his tenure as a player and captain they never won more than one test in a overseas series other than 2004 Pakistan tour.They started many series as favorite only to come up short mainly due to batting failures which is supposed to be the strength of the team. Mr Dhoni took it to another level by losing 0-7 and losing even home series.

If you are so anti virat then min you should want is that he should not be in team. Yet you all want him in the team, so not that anti at all. Waste of a club. Its like starting an anti congress party but still wanting Rahul as prime minister and congrees in power:giggle:
