Needforspeed Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Modi is lesser of the evils for the electorate. We are really unfortunate to have such crap choices. (Modi vs Rahul Gandhi)

surajmal Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 The statistic we are constantly bludgeoned with is that nearly 60% of India is under the age of 40. A recent Asian Development Bank report mentions a more palpable figure: a million young Indians will be joining the workforce every month for the next 20 years. This is both terrifying and exhilarating. How Indian polity and economy respond to this will, quite simply, determine the country's future for the next 50 years. If these massive waves of aspiration find no productive network of channels, we could be looking at a disaster of unimaginable scale: a tsunami of anarchic despair. http://www.livemint.com/Opinion/pxDO59SC4aD1HCHe0VbZsL/Modis-motivational-message.html Food for thought.
AGHORI Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 No answer to Godhra riots? Do you really expect these sorts of questions from those Amul babies sitting inside the hall.
gs Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 No answer to Godhra riots? What triggered Godhra riots?

Show me one clean party or politician in the Indian political context. Both sides are evil, but we have to choose lesser of them and the side that will most likely help the nation. Congress has had this country as its jaagir for the past 60+ years and we know the nation is still a 3rd world sh.t hole! Do you seriously think Modi can do any worse?
CSK Fan Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 What triggered Godhra riots? Yes because a few miscreants commiting a cirminal act is the same as an entire state govermetn and police looking the other way when innocent people are killed. Congrats you win the retard award
asterix Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Yes because a few miscreants commiting a cirminal act is the same as an entire state govermetn and police looking the other way when innocent people are killed. Congrats you win the retard award We had examples of Central Govt 'looking at the other way' along with many state govts. when few terrorists killed Indira Gandhi..while innocent people were burned and butchered all over the country. I grew up in MP and in areas like Chhindwara (Kamalnath's constituency) Sikhs were meticulously eliminated. Many Sikhs vanished overnight... Don't talk about retards.. You just've to look at yourself in mirror.. It was a systematic pogrom all over India.. And nothing has ever been done on it ever. Atleast in Gujarat the investigations have been going on and many people have been prosecuted. The current Gandhi family has blood in their hands including many of it's top leaders. I hope if any opposition party comes in power, they open all the rioting cases against these Kongis which've been brushed under the carpet for so many years..
The Outsider Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 1984 sikh killings? Congress/baba dont have blood on their hands?!? The current Gandhi family has blood in their hands Am pretty sure a 14 year old Rahul Gandhi is the culprit we've been looking for all these years for the '84 riots. Or maybe a 13 year old Priyanka? Or Sonia Gandhi who was so deeply involved in politics in '84? Or maybe Rabbit Vadra?
Trichromatic Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Anti-Modi protesters at DU allege manhandling While the collective power of the youth and all its virtues were being extolled by the Gujarat Chief Minister inside the gates of the Shri Ram College of Commerce here on Wednesday, a large crowd of slogan-shouting youth was being water-cannoned right outside. Holding black flags and shouting anti-Modi slogans, the protesters were stopped at a distance from the college gates through three tiers of heavy police barricades. At about 5 p.m., in the middle of Mr. ModiÃÔ speech, a lot of shoving and angry verbal exchanges between the students and the armed police led to the barricades being broken and the crowd was eventually controlled by lathis and water-cannons. The protesters at the front of the barricades were marched to the police station while being hit on the way. Űne of my male friends was hit on the head and another on his private parts. They were both detained, said one of the protesters who asked not to be named. Her mother, a university professor, alleged that the police had behaved obnoxiously with the women protesters, making obscene gestures and mouthing sexual innuendoes. The women were attacked by some who seemed to belong to the ABVP [Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad] and the police, who were supporting each other. The police were apparently particularly obnoxious, whistling at and groping the female students and beating them and the boys up sadistically with lathis and water cannons, she said and added that this group threatened them with Gujarat-like consequences, chanting, Jo Gujarat mein hua, vaise tujh me ghusa doonga while brandishing a stick. Å¢ll this time, the police were watching and laughing at the girls and others and saying things like Kar le jo karna hai, kya kar payegi , and openly supporting the ABVP group, who were even dancing on the water cannons. The worst is that they would pick up some of the protesters including young women and push them into a crowd of ABVP activists, who would then beat them up, she said. At about 6 p.m. a group with saffron scarves could be seen on the police side, jeering at the protesters. Several student associations and teachers, including some from other universities like Jamia Millia Islamia and Jawaharlal Nehru University, then took out a protest march to the police station. A two-hour protest followed in which one of the detainees, Kopal, came out and confirmed the attitude of the police. A loud chanting for the resignation of the local SHO followed and the detainees were released. While the protesters said around eight of them were detained, the police said it was only five. Around 200 police personnel were on duty. In his speech to SRCC students, Mr. Modi said Gujarat products like milk, tomatoes and salt had captured markets across the country and elsewhere in Asia, and that this was proof that the State had pioneered successful business models. The Outsider Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Source Terrorists feeling proud of what they did during Gujrat riots and using that example to threaten others. These are made up stories by the pseudo secular media. Na Gujarat mein kuch hua na Dilli mein.
seedhi Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Am pretty sure a 14 year old Rahul Gandhi is the culprit we've been looking for all these years for the '84 riots. Or maybe a 13 year old Priyanka? Or Sonia Gandhi who was so deeply involved in politics in '84? Or maybe Rabbit Vadra? Congress bears the responsibility for the riots as well as for stalling all attempts at justice for 1984 riot victims. For the Gujarat riots the justice system has delivered substantially. Most importantly, the same mechanism that has delivered justice in Gujarat has examined Modi's role and found no evidence against him.
seedhi Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 The upping of ante is not just about giving a great speech. It is about backing it with action. Gujarat gets one-fourth of the central e-governance awards NEW DELHI: The Gujarat government seems to be on a roll these days. Following the urban development ministry asking other states to follow Gujarat models for urban infrastructure projects, the BJP-ruled state has now bagged four of the 16 national awards for e-governance initiatives. No other state got more than two. One of the awards for Gujarat was for its Online Voting System (OVS), implemented successfully in the state local body polls, showing others how such a system can be useful in getting people to vote in the internet age. Incidentally, 11 of the 16 awards announced by the ministry of personnel went to non-UPA ruled states with Madhya Pradesh and Odisha getting two awards each. Other states that got awards include Andhra Pradesh (2) and Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir (one each). These awards are given every year by the administrative reforms wing of the ministry of personnel to states and central departments for their e-governance efforts. As against 16 awards to states, only one central department was awarded this year -- the 'mail network optimization project' of the department of posts. Congress-ruled Rajasthan was selected under the 'best government portal' category for Rajasthan Public Service Commission, Ajmer. Besides its OVS system, Gujarat was awarded for "XLN-Xtended Licensing & Laboratory Node of Sales" of its food and drugs department, MAGIC - Mineral Administration and Governance Using ICT, and iMINE of the state mineral development corporation limited. The other categories of awards included government process re-engineering, outstanding performance in citizen-centric service delivery, innovative use of technology in e-governance and specific social sector programmes. While Madhya Pradesh was awarded for its special project for assistance, rehabilitation and strengthening of handicapped (SPARSH) under 'social sector programmes' category, Bihar was awarded for its iBhuGoal project under the 'innovative use of technology in e-governance'. The iBhuGoal is Bihar government's flagship initiative of GIS mapping of infrastructure resources in the state. Jharkhand was selected under the category of 'exemplary re-use of ICT based solutions' for its "electronic benefit transfer" model whereas Jammu & Kashmir was awarded for its project of "measuring physical accessibility to healthcare network and population coverage modeling in the state using geo-informatics". All the states will be presented with these awards during the national conference on e-governance in Jaipur on February 11-12. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2013-02-06/india/36949112_1_e-governance-national-awards-flagship-initiative

In the case of Gujarat, the SIT set up by the Supreme Court is completely independent of BJP's influence. Since a completely independent investigating agency, monitored by the Supreme Court, has found no evidence against N. Modi, I give this process much greater credibility.

Still no evidence was found to convict them so I give that even greater credibility.
